We'll see how it lasts?????? I see I need to make side supports?????
The Factory body fits over the cage though!

Honestly, I don't think it'll last long if you're hard on your truck. The only cages I've seen that do anything positive for the truck (other than look sorta cool, which is only opinion anyways), are the RC Solutions cages.
In my opinion all of the other cages are purely for looks.

Hey Metalry, other than the factory roll bar (easily bent back into shape or replaced for cheap), have you ever seen damage on a Savage that even an RC Solutions cage would have prevented? I've considered a 'cage, but I'm not convinced it'd help. I guess it might help prevent the forward left-rear shock from puncturing the fuel tank but I can't think of much else. Just wondering.

The taco'age of the TVP's can be prevented by an RC Solutions cage I think. If you hit something hard enough, it'll still crumple, but the cage would stiffen up the chassis considerably. Honestly, if some one is breaking stuff all the time on a Savage I think the only things that can help are less horsepower (you can't hit stuff as hard if you can't go as fast), and better driving skills. I've seen Savages get rallied the hell out of and keep on going, whereas some people break the truck in half during break in. If a good driver can't keep a Savage in one piece then an RC Solutions cage probably won't help much. I think the Savage is tough enough without the cage for most people.
I do think the LST needs the cage for hard bashing (I have one on my LST), and I think a T-Maxx could seriously benefit from the cage. The MGT, Savage, and Revo are all tough enough without them to not really need the cage IMO, although it certainly doesn't hurt durability.
Oh...and a few other things I think it could do for a Savage on a bad landing...
-Prevent the truck from landing directly on the engine head and either breaking the engine mount or bending the engine mount plate.
-Breaking the fuel tank by landing on it.
-Scraping the head (purely cosmetic, most people don't care, but some do).
-Breakage of the shock towers and/or bulkheads where the towers attach. That's a rare breakage point, but I've seen it before.
Like I said before, the Savage is tough enough that it shouldn't need a cage, but I think the RC Solutions cages are the best on the market. They're the only cages that actually tie in with the existing structure of the truck well enough to do something. Ya, RC Raven cages are tough as nails, but it doesn't make the truck that it's bolted to any tougher because it's not incorporated into the structure of the truck at all. In my opinion it's like stacking another Savage on top of yours and saying the truck is now tougher. Oh yeah, two ultra-strong structures that are almost completely independent of one another. How does that help? The RC Solutions cages don't do that, they become part of the truck they're attached to, which is why they work so well.
