Hi I had a revo and I was not that happy with it so I sold it on ebay.
I have Tamiya TNX for about 1 1/2 years and I love this truck.

I have both. Out the box the TNX is a better deal. If you put a OS TM or TZ in place of the stock revo motor I like the Revo better. It will cost you more money than a TNX pro.

The Revo is easier to get dialed than the TNX as the Revo fits my driving style better. They are both great trucks but what makes the Revo work better is the suspension as it is so forgiving.

i had a revo and still have a tnx pro. the tnx motor is excellent. if you bought the revo you will have to upgrade the engine. for me the tnx was easier to drive, jumps better, more torque etc. the only negative is parts support. i stocked up on parts on ebay. i never broke anything on my tnx pro. i stripped out one spur gear and once in a while the tie rod end would pop off(sometimes during a race when i made hard contact with another truck the end would pop off.) the only upgrade i did was move the battery box more towards the front and put in a high speed, high torque steering servo(.10 speed 200oz of torque) if you go to queensunitedrc.com and click on videos you can see a short video of my tnx pro at my local track. hope this helps

TNX Pro. By far the best Nitro monster truck I have ever owned. With the hop-ups that come with it it's the best deal going too.

for racing, definitely a Revo.

Definately Revo. It dominates the track and the 2.5 isn't a bad engine. People who are impatient and can't properly tune an engine say the engine is junk. The 2.5 makes plenty of power and for $100 a pop, it's a great engine for racing. I even bought two backup 2.5s just in case mine blows :D

The Revo is fast out of the box. The only thing I've really upgraded are the tires, radio, and I did the FOC. Best thing to do is to go to the local track and see if someone with a Revo will let you drive it for a little and ask a TNX owner the same thing.

Definately Revo. It dominates the track

Not at the Pro-Line Maxx Challenge. Small-Block class, TNX Pro finished 1st-2nd

Big-Block class LST 1st & 3rd. Yes against revo w/big-block engine.
Where is the domination?

I didn't know 1 race counted for everything...

It's still mostly the driver and if you can handle the truck you bought. You can bash the Revo all you want, but he's looking for facts and experience, not the scores of one race.

Hey youre the one that said the revo dominates. Yet it didnt take much to show it doesnt.
And thats 2 races not 1.

Saying it dominates isnt a FACT but the results of the races are. No bashing done what-so-ever just the facts.

I'd take the TNX Pro over the Revo. As much as I like the design of the Revo I just had to many bad experiences with Traxxas products.

How about the TNX RTR versus the Revo?

Right now I can get the TNX RTR for 289 shipped from ultimate. As primarily a basher and part time racer, is the extra money worth it on the TNX Pro?

Can you elaborate as to why it sucks. Looking at the differences between the pro an the RTR, the main upgrades are the tires and Proline shocks. Are the stock shocks just completely unusable?

The RTR doesnt suck, its the same truck, just without the better shocks, head, or wheels.

On Another note I own a TNX and I'm partial to it but I do like the Revo. This past weekend I qualified first in the A-main small block monster truck class out of 2 separate mains (that make sense? There was an A and a B main). Anywho I lost cuz I flamed out. I like the way Revo's perform and they do seem to get around the track smoother but somehow I still manage to keep ahead of them. The main problem TNX owners have on the track is getting them to turn and there's workarounds that can be done to get better handling. If I were to convert to a Revo I think I probably would turn a faster lap time but I'm not up for it. The cost to get a REVO to race well is much more than that of a TNX Pro.

I ordered the OG TNX last night. I can't wait to get it!

WELCOME here Tbizz!!!
Could you email me a pic of your TNX with the Revo wheels/tires? I thought about getting a set.
Thanks

Like patrick said, can you get parts? I would've gone with a TNX, but my LHS doesn't support Tamiya, so in the end I ended up with a Revo (LSTs were sold out at the time).

To make the Revo race ready, all you need are tires, shock springs, rockers, and shock oil. When I adjusted those alone, my truck was DIALED. Like GTX said (*slaps him with a fish!!*), the 2.5R is a decent engine if you're patient. When I was running at my track, some people thought I had a aftermarket engine in it since it was screaming. The only thing that really leaves a bad taste in your mouth is the TQ3 radio .. It does it's job, but I simply hate it.
