No Reverse ( TRAXXAS REVO )

I just purchased a Traxxas Revo 3 weeks ago. I broke the motor in as directed. I went to use reverse for the 1st time the other day and found out that I do not have reverse the truck still goes forward, all of the servo work when I shift but the truck still goes forward. I called Traxxas and the told me to 1st re-program the opti drive which I did but the truck still does not go in reverse. I'm going to call Traxxas again but they only have reps Mon-Fri. Does anyone out there have any other ideas or possible reasons why reverse doesn't work?

Once the truck has stopped and you hit the shift button, you must hit the brake in order for it to shift.

the opti-drive is most likely preventing the servo from shifting. Make sure the truck is stopped and that the engine isn't idling too high.
