? about RX antenna

i have a JR Racing R125 RX and i broke the original wire on it and i went to radio shack and got some new antenna wire. Well there is a couple of problems i have the wire i got is stiffer then what the original was i know the wire in the original are strains of wire woven together and the one i got from radio shack is a solid wire and what is the lenght i need to cut the wire its a AM RX

Another option (which is what I was going to do until I bought the Futaba wires) is to look for some cheap speaker wire or an antenna off of a clock radio. My clock radio has an antenna that is the same size as my Rx antenna. I almost cut it off and used that. I would not use the solid wire. I don't think they will get as good of reception.

well will the futabu wire work on a JR RX and how long do i keep the wire is there a serten leght i need to cut it

It should work. I have used them on Hitec Rxs. I usually cut the stock wire to about 2" and just solder the new one on.

Don't use the solid wire, it will work fine and all - for a while. But all the vibration form the motor and shocks from running and bashing will cause it to break. Stranded wire is much more durable than solid. Any length between 20" and 26" or so will be fine. The Futaba wire will work fine - you're JR cannot read :D so it won't know the difference.The JR 3 channel radio comes from the factory with 20" of antenna. If you still have the manual for your radio it probably says how long it was in the specs section.

did you read the manual I posted in the other thread? It spec'd out 20" antenna length.
