Hey guys, new to this board, but have learned a bit already. Found a better way to keep in the styrofoam piece that keeps your battery off the electronics, as well as keeping the cockpit straighter. Next time you order some spare parts, get a set of wing hold down posts. remove the two plastic rivets that used to keep the strofoam in place, Use the longer of the set to go through the cockpit wall, same holes as the rivets, through the styrofoam, and out the other side. The caps fit tight, so you dont need to glue one on, dont glue both or your not getting it back out. Holds the cockpit walls together, tight to the styrofoam, styrofoam wont breakout, and you can double loop a orange rubber band, up over the cockpit window, keeping it tight to the body. Actually pulled my bent cockpit window back to its original position. lost the cable for my dig cam or I would send a pic. Looks good too.

Been there, done that. It's a great idea and works very well indeed. I would strongly suggest this mod to all Aerobird/Firebird pilots. I found my Commander battery getting a bit loose in the cockpit. Putting a spare wing elastic around the canopy hood attached to the aforementioned anchor pins stops it from slipping out in the event of a loop or a crash.
Not that I tend to crash anymore.................... :)
