View Full Version : New 18th Scale; 135ft Indoor Carpet Offrad At Laso
Hey guys, we have converted our track to a 3 in 1 race track. It can still be run oval or roadcourse and now offroad. It all can be changed in a matter of minutes. The offroad is 135ft.carpet indoor. It has a tabletop, mobils a single a double and lots of turns. any 18th scale trucks or buggies can run. We had our 1st offroad race this past Sunday and the racers loved it. Alot of fun with no dirt to get out of your truck. Also inside with the AIR CONDITION. So anyone with a 18th scale truck or buggy that wants to run a clean, cool offroad and have lots of fun come race with us at LASO RACEWAY in Pine Level N.C. You can check out our tracks at www.lasoraceway.com or go to the Laso thread on this forum.

Do you have anyone running the Associated or Trinity 4X4 trucks there? What motors will be the required one to run?
Do you have anyone running the Associated or Trinity 4X4 trucks there? What motors will be the required one to run?
yes; some are running the 4x4 trucks all the 18th scale trucks can run together[mini-t and all the 4x4 trucks] We did Sunday, and a Mini-t won and a associated came in a close second. right now there is not a motor restriction but most are running the speed motor. We will let the racers vote on the motor once we have several here at one time. We want every racer to have a vote, not just a select few. We can always split the classes if some want stock and some want mod. You can run foam or street tires, NO knobbies. So come on and enjoy the fun. :) ;)

Can you use personal transponders with your lap counting system?
Can you use personal transponders with your lap counting system?
Yes, we have the AMB scoring system. It will take track or personal transponders. Some have used personal transponders before with no problem, but we also have track transponders at no extra cost. So what ever you prefer is ok. :)

I hope you have a good truck crowd this Sunday, because I am planning to come race with you guys. I'm trying to get some others to come with me. We'll be running 1/18th trucks.

Hey, you can buy mine if ya want. Mini-T pro so you'll need a radio system and all the trimmings. 125 with the HS-55 servo in it.
Ron-you got PM
Hopefully the offroad is finnally finished. We have carpeted all the jumps and made a few changes. It is now 140ft. It has a larger table top and all the jumps are wider{ they cover the whole width of the lanes**. The racers say it has a GOOD flow. We are having good turnouts for this, had 2 classes of offroad and 1 oval Wednesday night. The track is easily changed back and forth. Hope to have a good turnout Sunday too. We are getting some of the old longtime racers coming also. Some we hadn't seen in years. SEEMS GOOD. Hope to see you all Sunday. will try to get a picture of the track on here tonight. :D
here is a picture of the offroad
another picture. It is now 140ft.

I like the "go inside and run over the moguls, or run a smooth line but longer around" set-up. Should be fun.

wonder how my Ferrari will run on the "offroad"?
Not too good, but it might run OK on the road course! :D

:D Carisma does do pretty good on the (off) road even with a 4 cell in it. I was actually surprised. I have more fun with it than I do my Mini-T on the track. What was reaaly surprising is that it made the jumps and no damage, the only tight spot was getting around the first turn after I got speed up. But I learn to slow down first. Will check on the shocks, but I know we can't get them in by Sunday. I may be able to pick up a used Mini-T today not sure yet. Will let you know,It should have everything in it,including ball diff and all. Hope you do make it Sunday,Smitty :)
Wiil check on you shock problem.

 Ron I was serious about the Carisma car. They do work,I've already done it. I wasn't being a smart Axx.It is tight getting around the 1st. turn especially after you get up speed, you have to slow up to make the turn, the car will even make the jumps with a 4-cell battery in it :p ,and I didn't get any damage. ) You need to try it. :)

Just to update. We have a few more offroad racers coming out, but we could use more. If you don't have a mini offroader, you can get the associated ready to run and change tires and be competitive. You can have the whole deal for under $200. Where else can you race competitively for that little cash??
Come on out and join us Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Program moves quickly and you'll get home in plenty of time to be rested for the next day of work. You won't need to do a lot of maintenance either, the 18t's seem to go forever with very little upkeep.
Hope to see some of you this Wed. at 7:00.
Hey Smitty.
Can't seem to get the hang of the offroad track, but I'll be back and maybe run some oval if anyone wants to sometime.
:D It's good to hear from you. There are racers there each week that want to race oval and off road. Often they race both classes. You're  missing out. : Hope to see you soon. :) ;)

All you gotta do is sign up in that class. Then others will see it and sign up too. All it takes is two.

Please...Just turn the wheel to the right from time to time and let off the throttle now and then. Take that zip tie off the throttle trigger and you'll do just fine. We need more off-roaders there. Mini-t or RC18T both do fine there. You don't need a lot of upgrades either. Mini-t pro or RC18t RTR with the right tires are both fine right out of the box.
Wednesday night 7:00. Be there.
ALL LASO RACERS EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY 9/18/2005 :)
SUNDAYS WILL BE FOR OVAL ONLY  NO OFF ROAD
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS WILL BE FOR OFF ROAD ONLY :)
