I am starting on a shallow draft day cruiser design intended for outboard power. I'll build a scale model to prove the concepts. Are there any 1:12 or 1:10 scale electric-powered outboards out there that I can use for the tank testing? Brand names don't matter, but I would like something that's reasonably representative of industry standard prop distances below the transom mount.

Thanks.

As far as scale there are some older vintage motors available that were quite scale in size & appearance (very costly to get one now though). However, I haven't seen anything made that's to scale in a very long time. The Kyosho Dolphin outboard is really the only one I can think of - but it's not scale.

I took a look at your photo, and that is a good looking motor. What are the dimensions?

The only outboard I could find at Graupner scaled too big (about 1:7 or so). It was specified for boats about 3' long or so, but my model will only be about 2'.
