Hey All,
Well in a week I'm going to race my RC10GT RTR for the first time. It is completely stock so is there any hop-ups I should buy or anything I should know about my first race?

In my experience AE kits require very few hop ups.
I recomend that you make sure your truck can idle for long periods and can then "take off" without failing.
Use a zip tie on the fuel tank for quick and easy refills (I am not sure how well known this is, or if it already on there, so excuse me if I am stating the the obvious here). Hang the zip tie out a hole in the front window for easy access.
Where I race you get a few minutes of warmup, a quick refuel, and then the you line up on the grid. During this period you will want to be able to refuel without removing the body or stopping the engine.
I recommend a you find a friend who can get you fueled up and on the grid while you remain on the driver's stand. It is beneficial if this person is familiar with nitro.
I am not sure how well outfitted the RTR version comes, but the only hop up worthy are the titanium tie rods. Especially if you are a beginner, hitting the tubes a lot ;)
When I raced my GT, I used 10% nitro. It is plebty fast enough for club events and will allow you to drive smoother.
Be sure your air filter is on securely.
Other than that, the tips that would apply to any RC car would be valid. I don't know if you have ever raced anything else, so I don't know how far to go with this ...

I have an RC10GT RTR too. I just started racing it a few months ago. I have only upgraded a few things, and each of the upgrades has been very useful!
Get the MIP 4 in 1 clutch, for way better acceleration and throttle control (after you are moving..)
Get a new steering servo! I use the Hitec 605MG, it is great, and now I can turn MUCH faster and more precisely!
Someone at the track just gave me clutch bearings, and they are good to have. My stock whatever was in there wore out completly and cost me 2 or 3 heat races and a main.
Other than that I haven't really upgraded anything else, the truck is really ready to race!

Yes, good advice from Blorper!
I forgot all about that 4-n-1 clutch. That is a MUST hop up. Very smooth engagement, tunable, long lasting (like forever).

How much is the MIP 4in1Clutch? and How much does the HiTec 605MG cost? Will the new HiTec 605MG plug right in and work fine?

The MIP clutch is $10.99 at towerhobbies.com
The HS-605MG s $39.99 at tower, and well worth it! It is much stonger, faster, and durable (because it has metal gears) than the stock servo. I would suggest that you get a servo saver to protect that too. But get that at your local store because it is hard to tell which will fit correctly once the servo is mounted on the chassis. (I had to get 2 different kinds) Yes, the connector will plug right into your receiver and work. Here is a link to the 605MG with the right connector: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXN592&P=7

May I ask,
How much does the typical servo saver cost? and what do they do? are they easy to install?

Servo savers are rms that attach to your servos, it works like a regular arm, but it is spring loaded, so in case you hit something with your tire while your servo is turning in the opposite direction, the servos gears don' strip, its a very useful object to have with high torque servos, GS Racing makes a very nice and durable one for $4.99 I think, but it also looks really good in various colours!

HELP ME!
I just got the MIP 4 in 1 Clutch and am trying to install it. But it does not seem to fit!! I have the stock AE.15 but the flywheel pins seem to long for the clutch to lay flush against the flywheel. Please help. Its very frustrating.

Since you didn't use a MIP flywheel, you need to file down the pins on the stock flywheel. Use a Dremel if tou own one. I would also consider RPM body6 mounts for your truck, the stock ones break way too easily. GOOD LUCK!!! :) :) :)
