Have you tried calling them? I'm only asking because I've worked with them in the past & they've been great. Try them at (386) 985-0288 & keep us posted.

a phone call can mean a world of difference.

Yeah, I had the same problem with Aeromarine: they messed up my order and didn't respond to e-mails. Finally, I called them and they were really helpful and sorted it out in no time.

Let's see. A new member with only 2 postings that comes in here to complain about people who have been in business for a very long time. Why not explain yourself a little more as to what the problem seems to be. Understand also that a lot of Florida based businesses were hit by the Hurricanes which put them way behind in orders. They may have had priorities like getting their homes repaired so sometimes things get put on the back burner.
Try their forum site if you really want to gripe and see what kind of response that you get over there, www.rumrunnerracing.com .

Well Ron I didnt know you owned this site and I am sorry if I offended you. Its been two months now and I have Emailed Rum Runner at three seperate email id's and they havn't replyed to any of my emails. 6 in total. I guess two months and 6 Emails to three sites makes them a little irresponsible now doesn't it. Im not bichin just giving fair warning to anyone else that doesn't want to get ripped off. THANKS DAN

Oh one other thing Ron. I may be new at this forum but im 58 years old and been around for a while and I know when I have paid for goods and not recieved them. These jokers dont answer Emails and thats just poor business in my book and I dont care if they have been in business for 50 years they still have my money and I still dont have my boat parts. All this seems pretty simple to me, HOW BOUT YOU??

Speechless - just speechless. I think I just witnessed a type-by griping. You'd think that after 58 years you'd know better than to join a forum just to gripe. I mean, I suppose your intent may have been honorable, but your method is not. I can understand your anger, I too have been at the short end of a deal, but it seems as if you're willing to take it out on anyone that doesn't 'join the cause'. And to drag helpful people down with you in your angry little torment just serves no purpose. This forum has the most helpful & pleasant people to talk to. If you are truly that concerned for your lost revenue, it seems that maybe you could have opened a discussion about your problem to gather more feedback to solve your dilemma. Maybe other people from this forum have had the same problem with Rumrunner - maybe this was isolated. But you'll never know now. You just wasted all the available help you could have gotten on this forum by venting the way you did. Did you pay online? Did you pay with regular mail? Are you sure they ever got your order? Did you leave return contact information on your order? Other than email, do they have a way to get ahold of you? Until you call them you haven't exhausted all your resources. Until you've exhausted all your resources, don't hang them out to dry. Talk to them in person. And, if you can't play nicely, I'm taking my boats & going home.

In fairness to Dan, he is not the first to have this happen.

Go to any other chat board and do a search for Rum Runner. You will come up with lots of people who have had exactly the same complaint. You can all apologize to him after you read some of the other posts. His is tame in comparison to some of them.

It all probably does not make much difference now, as they appear to be out of business anyway.

Good luck to all the victims in getting what you ordered or getting your money back.

I can see it from both sides since I have been there and done that. Not with rumrunner but with others. If a web site is going to have an email address then darn it answer the emails. If you care about customers service at all it is just what should be done. I am from the old school as well but I do like emails unless I don't get a response then I will call the company.

Aeromarine is famous for this business fopa as is one reason I don't do business with them if I can avoid it. If they don't care enough to answer a simple email which takes a lot less time than a phone call then they don't care. If you answer your emails you get more business which means more money and happy customers. In my humble opinion that is one reason the hobby has not grown to more people becuase it is such a hassle to get parts.

Most of the web sites you cannot go on line place your order you have to call during business hours. I don't know about eveyone else but I have to work during this time so I should be able to order my parts when I want to.

There I feel better :)

Dan, I'll be 53 next month so I'm no spring chicken either plus have 30+ years of R/C experience. I do not own this site but do help out a lot in here. I'm not a Moderator on this site (I am on another) or have any other capacity except as a member like you.
Sound like it or not, I'd just as soon be on your side. More information is needed. What did you order and when for instance? I'm not an electric boat racer and some of the members over at the above mentioned site I don't get along with at all, especially one that is very prominent there and also a contributor to RCBM.
Go over to their forum site and pitch a gripe, I'll be in there to back you up. If the Wollard's are running a shaky business then it should be brought to the members.
I am not covering for them in any way, just offering some possible scenarios.
It just doesn't look good with someone with only 2 postings at the time to come in here just to blast a business.
Next time deal with Peter at Climate, I know him personally and he's one of the good guys.
Peter, PM me some of those other sites if you can, I'd like to see the complaints. In the meantime I'll do some surfing around.

I just went to their site and found this message on their front page:
Welcome to the Rum Runner Hobbies website. We have temporarily closed our online store. We are working now to ship out our last few open orders. Those remaining should ship within the next week or so. Thanks for your orders and hope to see you again soon!

I (or we) would like to know what happens.

It seems like I can't do a second edit on my previous posting. I went in and did some digging around and found some other disgruntled people, some have had problems with them since last year! One place that I found them was on http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/search.php?searchid=3556831&pp=25

HI again. Thanks to all who understood my frustration. Again Im not just bitching but want to let anyone who cares know about the situation. RON, like I stated , Iv'e been around quite a while and I have done a lot of business on line with many different hobby dealers and I have never been treated like this. Im not just bitchin I am tryiing to save other people a lot of greif here. My order was only $37.00 but as you know thats cheep compaired to what I could be out. TRUST me I'm not just some wet behind the ears kid that is just here to complain, my intentions are to help anyone else as some orders I have placed with different hobby dealers have been in the hundreds. As I have stated I emailed three different accounts they posted with no reply. They got my order because I got an Email stating that. Oh well enough I don't have to defend myself I just dont want the fine people in this forum thinking I am some tired old man looking for somewhere to vent. My best to all and God Love Fast Boats. My toys keep me from being boared with life. LOL ALL THE BEST DAN :D

The further I looked into the links that Climate PM'ed to me the more links that I found. Some complaints went back to 2003 and beyond! I hope that you do get the problem resolved. If you used a credit card for your purchase, contact them also to make them aware of what's going on.
I had a problem once with a now out of business company, RadioActive Hobbies in Las Vegas. Discover took care of the problem there for me. At least with him, I got communications, his brother died, he was moving the business to his home, the weather was too hot/too cold to lay up boats, etc., etc. until I finally had enough of it.

Didn't our buddy Scorpion Boats have a problem too?

Btw, I don't care how much your order was... 37- or 3700- it doesn't matter.

I've called Rocket City and left a bug in his ear a year or so ago for not including a 2- part in an almost a 500- order. Don't get me started about WHH, Aeromarine, Bonzi' and even a few German companies. They screw up, they get a polite email & then if no response... its time for some phone conversation.

Everyone needs a vent and you'rs is no exception. Hope it works for the better..... Lurker...:D (jokin' man)

OH Peter. Your company is first class. Ive been waiting more than a month for a wire drive and you had the courtesy of Emailing me and letting me know why the delay and the anticipated date of shipment. Im waiting now and I expect my goods from Climate to arive any day. This is good business and it's what I've come to expect from a class act like yours. Thanks for what I call service. DAN

This has nothing to do with anything, but I'M some wet behind the ears kid!!! I'm 18 and proud of it and I just started building boats a few months ago when I joined the forum and now I have a pretty kick ass boat I built completely from the ground up. And, somehow, I have avoided bitching and have done everything I can to contribute to the forum. So there!!!! :D:D:D

Hey, don't sweat it. We all get that way - you're among friends here. The fact that you stuck around & explained it in more detail helped a lot. Sorry you got a raw deal.

Thanks for the enlightenment.
