I recently aquired a Faulty Hacker master car competetition controller (along with a U-force 75 and hacker C40-6 which I must say I am very happy with . Much nicer than the MGM :D .) When connected to a motor and battery and turned on I get some beeps . When you apply the throttle the motor trys to turn but just will not quite spin . Does anyone have any idea if this may be worth fixing ? I think it was damaged when the previous owner applied the throttle while the car was rolling backwards .
Thanks Dan

Hi, you have to make sure that the throttle on your transmiter is ABSOLUTELY in the neutral position! Otherwise the hackers go into programming mode.
Hope this helps, Chewie.

I had a similar problem with my Mtroniks when I first soldered it all together..turned out I didn't solder one of the cables too well so one of the phases wasn't firing, maybe similar problem here?

if you do not get the controller working, I would like to purchase it for spare parts mechwarriorjon@hotmail.com

The hackers are very sensitive to trigger position when they are "booting up". Throttle trim needs to be centered and don't move the trigger until after the beeps are done. What it sounds like is you are getting false starts and the controller goes into its safe mode. Ihad problems with both of my hackers. I had a trick that sometimes worked for it. Hold the car off the ground and make sure not to touch the wheels. Turn on the radio, plug in the battery, wait for the beeps and without giving it any throttle, roll the car forward on the ground. While it is rolling, try to give it a little bit of gas and see if it works. As I say, both of my hackers are dead, but they worked ok while they were alive.

Thanks for the suggestions . I have tried all these and at the best the motor gives a powerful clunk when applying throttle . Its like it wants to go but perhaps one of the motor phases is not working . I will try a little more and if I cannot get it to go I will put it up for auction . Like I said I am happy with the U-Force but would like to get an RS232 cable for it .
