We are still using the Laps Free system, manually imputting the car numbers in. It works great for us.

I don't think there is any hobby shops left out west near you. I believe the closest is in Canton, but they specialize in nitro off road trucks and buggies. I'm not sure of the name, they had been advertising in the IWANNA paper.
As for Asheville, there are several shops. Asheville Hobbies (in Mills River area) and Carolina Hobbies in east Asheville (828.258.1127). Hendersonville has the Hobby House as well.

If you don't mind taking a ride drive down to Easley,SC to The Hobby Connection, but be warned, it might take you a while to get out of the store. ;) When it comes to RC, there isn't a hobby shop in this region that even comes close.

we are deffinately "run what ya brung", but since several of us like to race in easley, sc also, we model our rules after carolinarc's rules. 19t open.. meaning any 19t motor, battery. last wekend we also had a nitro running with us, but the small track is not terribly condusive to that... we'd love to have you join us one weekend even if it is just to hang out for a couple hours. our primary objective is having fun, and we do.

Craig,
The last race days for this year are as follows:
Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 12, Nov. 26, and Dec. 10 (weather allowing)

Oct 8 is the final poinst series race, and it looks like a close series between the Dillow brothers, have to wait till the very end to see which one gets the win.

2mcgrath.....
We had a guy try a gas car on the track, but electrics really have the advantage. The longest straight is only about 90' long. Associated cars, and a few Tamiyas, and a couple of HPI cars are working well.
Hope you and your buddies can get here, the more the merrier!

Bob
