I lost almost 3 inches off one of my antenna wires and it didn't seem to affect the range or signal at all....I'm still using it to this day with the shorter wire....I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about.

Range test it before you drive your car. First turn the car on (if its electric I'd highly reccomend you disconnect the motor so you don't have a runaway). Now with the antenna on the radio down, walk about 30-40 feet away. If you still have good control over everything then you should be good to go. This is how we range check airplanes so it should be good for cars also.

If it all works, and you didn't lose any range, you got lucky. Make sure no more of the antenna comes off.

if it is a nitro, even if that didnt effect your range, you should get a Dynamite Race Gaurd. it is a little thing that plugs in between your throttle servo and reciever, it detects if you have lost signal, and then puts your servo to desired position. i has saved my st a few times :)

I taped my antenna to the plastic post to keep it from flailing around, the tape was catching on the body, i decided to replace it. i didn't want to cut the tape off for obvious reasons. so I tried pulling it. the taped help on so good, that i yanked about 3/4 inch off the end. I know the range won't be as far, but will this seriously affect the range?
