I recently bought the Firebird Scout for my daughter. It is the first electric R/C I've purchased. I've quite a bit of time in glowplug flying, years actually. Here's my question: Are these plane chonically underpowered? Everything is set up properly. I've used two differint batteries and this little plane will not gain altitude unless it is going in to a 3-5 kt headwind. In dead air it will not even maintain launch altitude. I've checked everything I know from wing planform to axis between surfaces and aerodynamicly it appears lined up.
Any ideas?
Great site by the way.

try scewing in the front screw of the tail wing to change the angle
or loosening the rear screw.
That should help it. I did that, added a 5 cell and it can to a loop.

I turned the back screw up so that I added about 5 degrees down angle on the tail. Worked like a charm! Thanks.
