well I put in then Sphere (esc and motor) in my T4 today...and I must be doing something wrong, because it is not very impressive. I have a 24T motor and AE ESC in it before and i see a little bit of improvement but not a whole lot...not what I was expecting. I have tried a 24, 21 and an 18 pinon and no real huge difference. BUT...I am still using 1900 NICD packs...will that make the difference???
However, one thing that did impress me was after i installed everything and had it up on my stand with the wheels off the bench, I turned it on without having the TX set up yet....and this freakin thing had sooo much power that it blew my glued rear tires right off the rim :D
Anyways...does anyone have any suggestions

thanks

Get some GP 3300 packs and you will probably notice quite an improvement :)

Yep......you are starving it as evident by the power not under load. The pack is dropping too much voltage trying to deliver current.

The same thing happened to me yesterday when I pulled out my Mamba powered Xray. I used a generic 1100mah 6 cell pack and it was fast. I built up a 5 cell pack out of some old GP 1100 cells (I am waitnig on some new cells) I had laying around and it was FASTER!! I knew the generic cells couldn't supply the current the Mamba would need, but I was lazy :p

Better batteries and you will see improvment. Brushless is efficient, but it still needs to be fed well.

24tooth pinion? That's awefully tall!!!! I think the Novak SS5800 which is a slower motor is supposed to be run with around an 18 tooth pinion.

Does the ESC have a way to program it to your radio? It sounds like its not seeing full throttle from your radio. If it ripped the tires off when your Tx was off, then not so much when running, sounds like it needs to be programmed again.
