I'm new to r/c planes and am ready to build a workshop to store any planes and equipment and also a place to build them. I've been trying to find information about how to setup a workshop. How much room do I really need? What size work bench, and shop layout, etc. Can't seem to find any info on the net about this.

Anybody have any ideas?

From my experence, Ill never have enough room! Depends on what size of planes your getting into, My building board is 2'X4'. The bigger your planes get the more room you'll need. You just need enough space to store everything, (tools, planes, ect,). Trust me you'll never have enough. Unless you are single forever:)

I have a small area in my basement. I have a work bench 2ft wide by 4ft long. I also have some shelves for storage. I think a work area should be personal. This is where you have to have fun doing your hobby. So tools that you use all the time should be with in easy reach, you should have good lighting, and your work bench should be sturdy. Also it should be out of the way of other famly members. Good luck and let us know if you need more help.
