View Full Version : I've almost had it with Schulze!

Okay, so first off I send both my UF75 controllers to them to get worked over with the new software and plugs before I put one of them on the market. I mail them out July 19th only to find out they are closed for "holiday" until August 17th!!!!
Now they reopen and I mail them to see if they have arrived. Matthias Schulze sends me back a mail stating they have not arrived yet. I mail him again yesterday and they still have not arrived?!?!? He said they may be in customs.
I have the receipt from my post office saying they were returned for service so they do not have to pay for customs charges on there own item. This is the same way I have sent them in the past. I am almost sure it is not a customs problem as I have not had any in the past.
So has anyone out there had any problems like this in the past. This is a very expensive package ($280 per controller * 2 = $560), and the post office only allows insurance up to $500!

You sent them without a tracking number?

Heres what it says....
Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.
This is by entering in the Insured number (which is what I was told is the tracking number). I have all my recipts for the post office and everything checks out on my end.

any time i send a valuable package out it will go insured and i 'll get a signed confirmation reciept when package arrives so having evidence always helps your case...

If you're in a rush with International stuff, Use UPS's Expedited Services. It's more expensive, but well worth it, tracking, signatures, customs documents, automatic insurance, I can get stuff overseas in about 3-5 days to the customer. Mail takes at least 7 days, and no tracking and no signatures, unless you pay almost as much as UPS.

Well its insured so Im not to worried. Im also not in that big of a hurry because I've got my new MGM 16016 and 12012 to play with.
What happens if it is in customs? How long do they keep it?

As long as they want. Customs can be fun sometimes, but if you fill out their required paperwork I've never had problems.

This is the first time I have had problems. I filled out everything the same as usual. Schulze told me to wait 4 weeks (!!!) and then the post office will start to investigate it. I am going to stop by the post office next week and see what I can do.

I had one last for a few weeks. It showed up eventually and got repaired and returned promptly.

Why is a postal service delivery problem Schulze's problem???
This post is very misleading and implies that Schulze has a problem when in reality it is the postal service!
I have had no problems with Schulze's customer service!

Well they are not offering any help on the matter. If I owned a company overseas I would try to help track down an order for a customer. Especially if he had spent over $1000 with my company, and $560 of it was sitting in customs as we speak. Do they not have a way that is easier than it would be for me to get in touch with their customs department? I know that I have to go to my post office and start an "investigation" on the matter. Can't they get in touch with them for me? I have offered to pay any charges that incur from customs if there is any.
I guess the title of this thread should have read "I am tired of overseas electronics companies!"
Then again Schulze was on "holiday" for four weeks! Add that to a four week turn around on service and the four weeks it is going to take for my post office to start an investigation, and it turns into AT LEAST three months before the ball gets rolling in my favor.

Next time use Fed-EX!
TimisTim

It obviously doesnt have anything to do with the type of mailing service. What would fed-ex do that would be any different? I have a tracking number, so either way I would have to have an "investigation" done on the matter. Fed-ex has the same ways of handling matters like this as my local post office.
I guess you should have said "Spend the extra $30 (it already cost me $20 for 5-10 business day, $500 insurance and tracking) and get the signatures and premium tracking." In that case why not spend another $15 and get it overnighted. All of which would only tack onto the service cost (including shipping it back to me) of about $40-50. Hmmm, thats only $70-95 round trip! Something nobody is going to do.

Why don't you go to the post office and do an insurance claim on lost items and take the insurance money to buy brand new systems? You did insure them? ($500 at least)

Yeah, I'll bet once you start the insurance claim, USPS will scramble to try and find them!

The problem is the USPS will not do ANYTHING for 30 days regardless of insurance or not. Don't think they will do you any favors when it comes to getting a claim settled either. I shipped my sister-in-laws computer to her insured in original packaging to the UK. It was damaged and still never settled on after about 2 years now. The UK didn't help by trying to charge customs when it was her computer from when she lived in the states and was now completely worthless anyway. FedEx or UPS provides better tracking and faster service if you can stomach the higer price.

Well it turns out the problem was with Schulze all along! I just recieved a mail that says they had filed it wrong twice (!) and it should be shipped out today or monday.
I will just be glad to have my controllers back.

Were they fried when you sent them in or were they working fine?

One was fried. I bought it off a guy on ebay that sold it for cheap because it didn't work. He apparently screwed it up pretty bad. It would just cogg even when the wheels were off the ground.
The other was my everyday user, so I just sent it in for new plugs and software updating while I had the other one heading there. It worked fine.
@Badboy...yes they are in germany.
