I'm just starting out in this hobby. Per hobby shop recommendation I purchased a transmitter (Jr 6021) it has memory to save settings for 8 different planes. It was explained that I would have "greater flexibility" in futrue plane purchases with it. The transmitter pacakage includes battery charger, battery, a receiver and 4 micro servers.
I am not interested in spending hours building planes.
Now looking on the internet, I find that all of the trainer planes come with transmitters as well as the necessary micro servers, battery and charger. Seems like all RTF planes come with a transmitter.
Is there a source for purchasing RTF planes without transmitters?
If possible, how much can I save by doing this?
Later when purchasing several different model planes, do you just throw the transmitters that come with them away?
Should I have not purchased the Jr transmitter? Advantages and disadvantages in it's purchase. Should I take it back before using it?

90% of the planes you can choose do NOT come with transmitters so the opportunity is huge. Here are a few examples.
ALMOST READY TO FLY and EASY TO BUILD KITS - STARTER PLANES
Below are ARF and simple kit planes. You will need to buy a radio if you don't
have
one, so you might want to read these articles on radios. The
articles are written for sailplane beginners, but all the info applies to
electrics too.

Computer Radios - The recommended path for almost everyone

Below are ARFs wood and foam packages as well as some are very
easy to build all wood kits. In each case you must add your own radio,
receiver, servos, speed control, batteries and battery charger. They all come
with a
motor.
One of these flight packs will fit most of these planes:
