Hi guys I have a new GWS Formosa (my second plane) and am currently interested in upgrading to a brushless system. Right now i have a 400 motor, 20P esc, and a 3S Kokam Lipo 1500 mAH. I am looking for something that will give me better performance than that, and some verticle capability for $100 or less. Any suggestions?

I am flying a Formosa (with no landing gear) using an E-flite Park 400 (4200KV), Castle Creations PHX 25 esc, GWS "C" gearing, APC 11X7 prop, and a Thunder Power 3s1p 1320 mAH battery. It will climb straight up but that probably overloads the battery, so I don't do that very long. Anyway, this combo works for me. Hope this helps. Billh 34

Wait... Billh... I know someone with those initials. Would your last name happen to be Hennell? If so I know you :) ... from the real world that is. Just checking. He has a Formosa too but I diddn't know he went brushless allready.

Never mind guys. I figured it out on a more populated fourum.
For future flyers interested in brushless for the formosa, the best setup is the Hacker A20 20L Outrunner, Hacker X-20 or PHX-25 ESC, Polly Quest 1800N 3S LiPo, and 9x6 APC E prop.
All of this can best be purchased on espritmodel.com for about $175. It will give about 200W with unlimited verticle and insane speed (for a formosa).
happy flying
