I remember seeing a radio designed exclusively for boats ...but it was years ago. Probably 1993 or so? There was a 4 channel and a 6 channel version - or 5 and 7 maybe (notable were two throttle sticks with wood thumbrests in the middle of the xmitter). I didn't have any money for one then ...but I have been looking recently and can't find anything like it. Does anyone make a radio designed for marine applications with lots of channels? With the prices of lipo cells so low now I am encouraged to get back into the hobby, but need to find the right equipment so I can have some fun! Models/manufacturers suggestions would be a great help ...thx!

You're probably thinking of the Ace Nautical Commander at www.acehobby.com .

I think that's it!

However I can't find any dealers listed on their page or any sites selling it. Was it a good product? Are they still in business?

Thx!

Yes, they are still in business, making the radio systems for Associated RTR trucks and cars. I've heard from one reliable source that the quality has been spotty on them. I don't know who is selling them either off-hand.
