Hey All,
First off, let me say THANK YOU to all the great people hear on this board! I've read through a LOT of posts about dyeing wheels & other parts different colors. I finally decided to try it for myself! Here is how I did it.
I wanted some BLACK dish wheels for my Duratrax EVADER ST. Naturally Duratrax didn't make wheels in BLACK. So I had to make my own! :D First I bought 2 pair of white LOSI brand wheels. One front & one rear pair. LOSI brand wheels for the XXX-T also fit the EVADER.
Next I filled an old pot with HOT HOT HOT water from my kitchen sink. I never boiled the water on the stove. If you put plastic wheels in water that is TOO hot the wheels will warp! :( I learned this the hard way. :o
Then I brought the pan of HOT water out into the garage. I didn't want to spill BLACK dye in the kitchen. :D I added 1/2 a bottle of RITE liquid BLACK dye ($2.50 at Wal-Mart) to the HOT water. And gave it a couple stirs. Then I dropped the white rims into the water & walked away.
About an hour later I pulled the rims out. Remember... these rims were originally WHITE!

It worked better than I EVER imagined! Hope this helps someone in the future!
