Hey gang!i dunno if ya heard but i wrecked my radio shack golden arrow.i broke the upright bracket (?) during a crash. the bad news is its a little hard aquiring parts for it so i had to rig soemthing to get her back on the "track" again.the good news is i think with the help of jb weld,i think i fixed it!i got lucky cause the tie rod/sterring rod took the blunt of the crash ,it was bent so i straightend it out. the froent end is hard to coem apart but it acually comes off in one peice like a clip, everything seems to be "pressed" together so until i can locate a good clip ,i jb welded the bracket ,i repalced the misisng cheunk with jb weld!here r soem pics from the sugery:(lol):

lol----while i was in the surgery mood, lol i also added wire to the antenna ,when i got the car from ebay, the antenna was cut short so i slavage the anteena wire from a old futaba reciever box,i had it taped together b4 n it seemed to work but now i soldered it for a better connection:

That's funny... The stuff is great though. My buddy has a GS Storm Truggy that he drives very hard... we always laugh at him because at the end of the day it is half zip ties and jb weld.

Fes, couple of things. Definitely get a new antenna wire. Soldering provides...well, I'll spare you the technicalities...the solder does weird stuff to signals. Chances are, you'll get more glitching than what you started with. It's always better to go with a new wire instead of 2 pieces soldered together.
Second, hope you thoroughly cleaned out the spot for the JB weld. In my experience, JB weld will do one of two things: hold things till the end of the world or fall apart at the first chance. Cleaning the area thoroughly will help out quite a bit. After washing with dishwater and drying very carefully and thoroughly, a good wipe down with denatured alcohol (not rubbing alcohol because it'll leave a film behind). Allow to dry completely then apply the JB weld.
I hope the weld holds. In the event it doesn't try the above steps.

thanks piggy!i really never thought of the whole glitchen thing with the radio????as far as the antenna goes, its connected to a circut board n iwas afraid to take it apart in case i damaged it......i didnt get a chance to try it out i will do it b4 work tonight!yeah i hope the jb weld holds up,i am afarid to get on it like i use to but we'll see.
i am bidding on a parts car on ebay n it ends soon & the seller said the car's front end is good, better than mine, lol!
it ant fast as my other cars but it is fun to drive,i am not gonna dump tons of money into, just tryn to get by with it! overall i am gonna have to take it easy with it!

I bought my son a golden arrow about 8 years ago at a yard sale for 5 bucks, against my better judgment, but he had to have it. I bought a charger for it and wow it was fast for a RS toy. he has run it through more puddles than i could count and it still runs strong. I ordered a new bumper and tires from RS. we switched to gas and its been on his shelf for years, but it still runs. :D
