Hi,

I keep shearing the 2 screws that go thru the skid plate onto the bellcrank, it's an easy repair, but also annoying as it usually cant be done onsite.

I'm considering buying an Alu/Alloy bellcrank, opinions please on whether this wud help to solve the problem of the screws shearing, or shud i just avoid smashing head on into things?!?!?!

How do you keep breaking them? Are you hitting things with your truck all the time or do the screws rattle out and break off when you scrape over something or what?

I've heard of them rattling out and then getting broken off (and had it happen on my truck before)...but I don't know how else you'd break them.

hitting things head on, probably isnt the best for your truck

Its actually possible they did work loose a bit, but im fairly sure it was impact rather than a scrape along them that broke them.

The hitting things head on is getting less frequent now, as im learning to drive it a bit better :)

Interesting that you are shearing these screws off. I have four Monster GT's and have never broken those screws, even after some good whacks.

Here's a good page on setting up your steering for the Monster GT. Maybe this will help with some options: http://csgbenefits.org/mgt/maxsteering.htm

Well was out last nite, kept checking these screws, and they are working loose for sure... i think it may actually be the servo saver screws inside the radio box, I've been advised that these shudnt be screwed like really tight, or indeed threadlocked, but it seems to be when these screws loosen off, it causes the bottom ones to loosen as well.. if i have everything real tight it does seem to restrict the steering a bit... but im a bit cautious about threadlocking them!!

On a happier note i bought some nice new shocks ( the luminous yellow ones not sure of brand) and what a difference, no more thuds when jumping :)

btw thx for the page, im gonne have a go at some of that tho maybe not the full mod.
