Does anyone have an unused sheet of Kyosho or HPI McLaren F1 GTR decals and window masks. If so would you be willing to do a high res scan of them for me so I can make some reproductions. I'd be happy to send you a set of my repros once i'm done in appreciation for your time and effort.

I'm not merely making a copy. I intend to improve the basic set a bit and clean up the detail with a few more elements. If you're interested please reply to this thread or send me a PM or email.

Are you referring to the McLaren GTR Gulf decals?

Any Mclaren F1 Decals.

By some great, undeserved fortune, I recently acquired four McLaren bodies, three unknown makes from germany and one HPI Mclaren which I stumbled upon by sheer luck. It'll be a few weeks before I see the german ones but i believe they will just have minimal decals and window mask.

The HPI McLaren was an incredible find but is missing the decals, window masks, and rear wing. The body and light buckets are in excellent condition though which is the only thing I really care about. I consider this the "holy grail" in terms of lexan bodies so I want to detail it up right and possibly make it a concourse grade shelf queen. Having a good set of decals to detail it up would be a helpful start.

Man, what a find! Well all I have is the Kyosho Superten Decals for the Mclaren-GTR (Gulf). Same decals as the bimmer I did. I have more than one set so I have a choice, use both on non-Mclaren bodies or sell one set. Just haven't decided yet.

As you can see from this pic, I abused my first F1. I was just a wee lad then so I didn't know any better.

I have the longtail, but it's just not the same. That rear end is hideous.

Now I excitedly await my new family of mclarens.

I'm torn as to whether to do the HPI body as a black road car or the Team Lark 60.

The rest of the bodies I will probably do in the following schemes:

and a silver or orange roadcar.

Super 10 is not true 1:10 if I remember correctly right? That's a shame. Scaling all the decals down to the right size would be a lot of work.

Your right, it's not, it's more like a 1/9 scale. I was surprised to see the decals actually worked for what I was trying to do. I did see one Mclaren body on ebay a few weeks ago and I didn't bid, what a regret. If you have any Kyosho longtails like the silver one you have pictured that you need to rid of, just let me know.

If you're not gonna run it hard, you should try modifiying one of the plastic kits off ebay like this one:

They make pretty decent platforms to detail up since they're ABS and you can do all sorts of things to them. I just got a cheapo pajero and f360 knockoffs which were less than the cost of their lexan tamiya equivalents. My only problem now is I don't think I'll have the time to properly model them.

I know what you mean about time. I really need to paint a couple of bodies just to us up some of my decals. in the mean time, I will keep looking for that elusive Mclaren body :)
