I just got these for my Savage to try and help with the plastic ones that keep popping off! RCM Titanium Tie rods w/ Aluminum Alloy Ball Ends.

Why do you need locktite to keep them in position.I use the GPM titanium tie rods hence with the plastic ball ends with alloy balls and i do not not use locktite.

The idea with tie rods is that they are free to move about yesif they are solid surley this will put more pressurse on other points of the truck

yeh savage machine you said your rodends are plastic and you balls are metal, his are alloy on alloy and you being an experiaced person in this hobby knows what happens when you mix nitro motor with alloy on alloy and no loctite ;)

Minipirate; he won't need loctite. Look close and you can see the small lock nuts already on the turnbuckle.

My question is, do the pivots have ball bearings in there? If they have small ball bearings, then I think they would last a long time. If it's metal-to-metal contact, then I think they will wear as quickly as any others.

Please keep us informed as to how these work out. They look really nice.

No ball bearing just an insert where the pivot is. This pic might show it a little better. The second one from the left is the one side that shows the insert. The pivot does not ride directly on the tie-rod end.

Now won,t titanium & aluminum threaded parts "cold fuse"or "clod weld" them selfs together without a good coating of lube????

Or is it Iron and Aluminum? Anyways I use anti-sieze on the tie-rod ends and a tiny drop of Loctite on the jam nut!

That'll either be very nice and work out, or it will be brittle and the rod will snap the ball end sleeve down the middle and peel it open like a banana.

Guess we'll find out :)

pics don't work. and i'd still locktite them. i locktite locknuts cause i've had them back off before. the rear tie rods on my savage kept popping off during races. so i just put a washer under a countersunk screw to hold them better. they can still move the way they need and i haven't had one pop off in over a year since i did that. they're still the original ball ends that came with the kit when i bought it. i think i paid $0.10 for the pack of washers i needed.
