If your engine have no power that mean its to rich, you need to lean it out. Im telling you again 270 is fine but not more.

by the way "HEY" is for horses ;)

Not to get off topic but isnt "Hay" for horses and "Hey" is like a hello? :D

270 Still isnt bad, I'd richen it up a tad, and make sure everything spins freely.

If it keeps getting hotter even though you richen it up, consider looking for an air leak. The base of the carb and the back plate can be bad about leaking air which will make you lean and hot.

Good old easy to tune and reliable TRX 2.5..... not. I would say go untill it runs great and richen it a tad from there. Then temp it... if it is right around 270 you somehow tuned a TRX 2.5.

Mine runs around 268. The Revo I had previously ran at 248 under any conditions and was still as powerful as this one is that I have currently. I hit a sweet spot on the carb one day - left it there for 8 weeks - and have never been able to duplicate it with my second truck.

:D the 2.5R on my revo has been good so far, but i've tried to help some people at the track and been pulling my hair out trying to get these finicky little engines to run properly. i can tune big blocks in my sleep, but this little .15 is a nightmare! i'd set the needles back to factory settings and go from there. if you can't get it to run smooth without getting to hot, you've either got an air leak, or the motor's bad (happened to my buddy, his revo ran 350 right out of the box  )

i think you may need to fiddle with your LSN... Also on my 2.5R the HSN is about 5 turns out.

Although the stock head on the Revo is better then the older TRX 2.5 you can replace it with a taller cooling head. I dropped a Golden horizons head on my TRX 2.5 and temps run in the 230s to 250s even on the hottest days.

In the summer I run a Medium heat plug and have had good luck with the ones listed below.

I have run J&Z http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXR508&P=ML
And Fox Medium Long http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFTW8&P=7

You can also play around with different Fuels the coolest running 30% nitro fuels I have found are Trinity Monster HP and O'Donnels Race. I have run many different fuels Wildcat, Traxxas and a few others.
