I have a stock T-MAXX and i will be getting the o.s. .18tm engine for it with in the next couple of weeks. i was wandering what type of tires would be good for bashing. the terrain i drive on is grass, hard packed dirt, loose dirt, rock, roots/logs, and just about anything else besides blacktop and sand. My favorite company is proline so i would like to get some of there tires and rims but not the 40 series.

Umm, the Traxxas Sportraxx are pretty darn good. They hook up awesome on loose/hard packed dirt, and have very long wear.

Zombie Maxx tires are the best all around tires I've ever come across. After 2ish (4 gallons total through my car, about 2 gallons worth of bashing with the Zombies) gallons of bashing on the surfaces you've listed above it still looks like they have all the tread they came with. I've also yet to find a surface that they struggled to find traction, other than at the beach

i'd get the zombie max tires with proline 23mm rims (not the 40 series 23mm) the stock 14mm hex is way too weak IMO. i've gone to 23mm on my revo, and love them. 23's for my savage is next.

I've had the same experience as tec_41 - the Sporttraaxx tires are great and show little wear. I run on grass and hard pack (dry, clayey soil) and loose dirt and they're awesome. They're also light weight so you get the added plus of reducing rotating weight.

I never understood what the big rush for the 23mm hexes was. I've yet to strip out a stock hex on my MGT, and the revo is even lighter. If you have decent aluminum hexes than you should have no problem killing rims or the hex nut itself. The MGT is a 12lb truck, it's noticeable heavier than the Savage. You should be fine running stock hexes and saving on the extra weight from adding 23mm hexes and adapters

Zombies are nice - a little soft and pricey, but they are nice. Mashers hookup real good and grip well on everything mentioned.
I vote Mashers.

thanks guys i have increse my hop-up funds so now i can afford the 40 series tires and the new proline bead-loc wheels so i have norrowed my list of tires down to Big Joe, Masher 40, or MOAB i think i'm going to get the moab;s or mashers.

big joe's and moabs look horrible on a Maxx because of the shorter wheelbase (IMO). 40 seriers mashers or bowties would look and WORK the best.
