Would think this is a good deal for you pros painting for profit.

Lidz, painting in micro scale is definitely a lot harder. Very little room for error. I agree, it sucks. Although, painting a micro body with detail and afterwards doing a 1/10th is like doodling on a post-it note and moving to a billboard.
Fes, you've got a challenge ahead of you painting those. It'll give you all the practice you can handle, and then some. Those will definitely increase your painting skills.

Just snapped up 5 for myself, don't own a mini but the practice should be interesting to say the least.
Now to research some of RespirologyRC's work for inspiration.

most of my paint jobs are done with masking tape. On the micro H2 bodies, they take me about 30-45minutes. The part that kills me in time is washing the insides and scoring the outline. After this it's a breeze.

Well nice work, just the same don't think I have the skills or paitence to paint a body in 30 to 45 min. :o
After about 30 min. I have to put it down for awhile or else toss it to the neighbor dog :D
Guess thats why I bought 5 bodys to paint for something I currently do not own, practice makes better ;)
Looked thru those bodys that you linked to, that is exceptional work to say the least.

2ndG here's a tip for you. Don't do anything tooo intricate. All my lids look highly detailed but if you look closely you will see that there is only 3 designs on each lid. The roof and the door panels. Sometimes I go all out and do something like this

For those mini-t bodies I would just put masking tape on the doors and the roof. The front hood is too curvy and would cause the tape to wrinkle. Also use a blow dryer. This helps to prevent bleeding of the paint through the masking tape. Whether you are using cans or airbrush just go slow. Lastly use a NEW razor blade and go lightly. For the longest times people on this forum would tell me that I was applying too much pressure but I couldn't help it. It is something that will take time for you to handle. When laying tape down try not to overlap it. This makes cutting harder. Also practice drawing your design first--what I mean is: All those lids I painted with the flames; they look similar but those flames are my style. I practiced over and over until I had a grasp of the style flames I wanted. They work for me and I'm pleased with them. Now I'm trying out different styles. If you have any questions just ask me and I'll try and help you out. Not many people like the 1/18th scale, but I do. I like the fact that one bottle of faskolor paint lasts me a year or 2. I find that i go through black and white alot, but other colors hardly ever run out on me. Good luck Respiro

That is simply amazing work.
Not sure if I like the 1/18 scale more or less than the 1/10 scale, but I like to paint and to get good at painting one must practice. Those 1/18th bodies averaged $ 3.38 apiece delivered to my door versus 1/10th scale @ $ 21.45, big difference in money there especially when your lookin' at the "Oh @#$% factor". Even when their not on sale like these were the typical high-end 1/18th body is half the cost of 1/10th scale, I like 2 for the price of one.
Anyway thanks for the tips, they are most appreciated. I'll definitly try and incorporate them in the next body I paint up.
Again thanks for taking the time
On a side note :p :p :D :p :p
Bummer deal, went out an bought a Losi Mini-T Pro and Associated FT RC18T last night so as to have a chassis or 2 laying around to mount the new bodies onto.
Mac & Cheese for me for the next month :p
:D :D  :D :D ;)
