Hey guys,

My ABC Super Hawaii has a couple of cracks where the gearbox mounts to the hull. What would be the best way to repair this? If anyone could provide step-by-step instructions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks....

Thanks for the reply....

I'd like to avoid buying a new hull simply because it took awhile to paint and decal this one....call me lazy ;)

My primary concerns would be flexibility and weight with the epoxy/fiberglass repair....are these non-issues when the hull is this flexible and the repair would put more weight in the rear?

lets see just to name one or 2
ABS,PVC and there is one other I can't remember but there are glues made for each and work best on its own just stop by your local hardware store and pick up some glue for ABS if they don't have it try your LHS and follow the ins. on the can
Good luck

additional info on the 'glue' officially caled 'cement' pvc & abs are 'solvent weld' cements. be sure to get the correct variety as they ONLY work on the respective types of plastic(one for pvc and one for abs) DO NOT buy multipupose cement it will not hold under stress(used for non pressure applications such as drainage). you might look into buying an end cap/clean-out plug (rigid black pipe) as a source of reinforcing material) hth
