Sunday, Electric Races
At
Charlotte RC Center
Doors closed, and clean air. CRCC wants to invite all electric classes, stock and mod, every other Sunday(s). October 2nd CRCC will host an exhibition race for all racers who want to race, and be part of the indoor experience. This race will be held for all electric drivers that want to promote a scheduled race just for electric racing at the Charlotte indoor race track. CRCC wants to start a point’s series for electric racing. Now is the time to come.
So drivers come and bring every off-road racing RC car, and race them with other drivers from the east coast.

Don't forget Electric only this Sunday October 2nd at CRCC. If the numbers are there to support this, CRCC will make this a regular thing through the winter that will be real nice when it gets cold outside. No smoke and no cold air!
See you at the track!

Been there, that is an awesome track, great shop too, I hope everyone in driving distance supports these guys, they have given alot to the hobby by opening this facility.
Not like the franchise hobby shops that take our business but don't give any support, or a facility back.
What time are you going to start?
How much per class?

LOL :D What do you know, I return to racing and my boys take 1 and 2. I guess I really should start doing motors again. Could this be the return of Ol' Mindblown??? :p Anyways, good run to all.

yeah had a BLAST!!! thanks for mind blowing power brad! the tork that thing had would gain me 3 to 4 spots on the grid easy! too bad i was sorta short on battery packs....would have loved to race cash in mod buggy too. :D . i think i'll use IB 38's in mod and pro-truck and maybe go with some NIB 33's in the stock classes. i know the newer higher mah batteries are the "in thing", but for the rip-to weight ratio...i still think Gp 3300's or even sanyo 2400's would suit me just fine. (in off-road that is ;) )
steven....thanks for the pride-ups! nah...cash was very fast and smooth sunday. i still struggled with tire choice so i basically tried to stay in the center of the track and not wreck. but after getting the truck home i realized that i had the battery spaced 5/16 of an inch too far forward. major goof! tho there were no team orders (lol), i didn't mind MINDBLOWN finishing second....as long as it finishes first too. :D. i'm sure you can come across a t3 or t4 somewhere. and when you do...c'mon down! BTW>>>you never told me how that 19 turn ran for you. gimme an update plz...

OHH yeah It's was fast till the comm let go... Was running 3rd and then the power dropped off and was running about like a good green machine would... :D I broke it down and found large chunks of comm missing, you were right it's was on it's last leg, but thanx for letting me finish it off... :D like I said it was a beast at first...

thanks for being the guenne-pig for me. i cut the comm down to a paved oval size, i but i believe the brushes were to hard for the copper. but i now have the brushes i need for that size comm. i also got a couple more sets of 737X reedy's too. gonna re-serrate two for laydown duties, and try 19 turn cuts on the other ones. but you might have to pm me and remind me what i did to the brushes on that "time-bomb" i lent you.LOL!

Thanks for the props guys. :) Pete, I can do Torque, as you can see. ;) What was that, 3 or 4 spots you could jump on the tone every time??? Not bad at all. Again, killer run my friend. Looking forward to many, many , many more ;) Steven, long time no see. I miss being around your crazy a#@. :p :D

HA! think it's time to work on set-up 'eh? holeshots might work...just need to change my vee-he-kul's balance. well, in about 90 minutes i'll be celebrating 34 glorious years on this planet. and for 22 of those years i've been on planet rc! WOWZERS I'M GETTING OLD! but not too old for donations.. i'm taking anything that has to do with rc.....power supplies, batts, lathes, zappers, free re-matching service, and trophy-girls's......resume's. please pm for address. thnx in addvance.

What is a good stock motor for a buggy? I'm getting a Evader Pro, and I want to run stock, but I'm 3 years behind the times. Core still a good motor?
nomac
11-29-2005, 07:36 PM
the core's are fine. good power and tork. but they have heat issues. you can use the "ice cube" trick on 'em and keep the heat down to keep up the power. but the buggy's are lighter so you might can get away with no ice. almost any trinity motor will work for you tho. from the paradox, green machine 3 all the way up to the monster.
but in stock truck the paradox, p2k, p2k2, integy's twin-turbo, the GM pinnacle & GM purple bull are all very good...hope this helps. :D

cool, picked up a GM3 , a couple 2400 packs, and a 6 pack of pinion gears. Anyone have any gear suggestions? The buggy is a Evader Pro.
nomac
11-30-2005, 09:23 PM
gm3' are descent, but watch your gearing...they have a bad rep for blowing up. :D! i can't find a tranny ratio on the buggy so i'm gonna guess that it's close to the xx-cr from losi. first try a 17 tooth with the stock spur. run it for about a minute on the track if the motor's too hot to touch for three seconds then back off by one tooth. let the motor cool down and try again. if it's cooler then you're headed in the right direction. i thought i saw it tonite down at ccrc but i could be mistaken.

thanks. I blew a couple in my TC3 on the carpet track in mooresville until I got it geared right, but I liked the way it ran. Man, you could sure tell when you smoked it though, smelled like burnt pop corn going down the track. I never cared for the p2k2 or the MVP. I liked the P2k and the GM better. Still wanna pick up a core.
If my buggy gets here friday or saturday, maybe I can come run with you guys sunday. You sound like a nicer group than what I used to see. I appreciate the help.

that's what we're here for! just giving back the help i got waaay back in the early 80's. i love this hobby very much (even tho i like to win as much as the next guy). the way i see it......nobody wants nothing they don't enjoy. so hurry up and get that buggy in! we need to get you on the track ASAP! then on monday, you can tell your co-workers about the great time you had and the great people you met! one of them's BOUND to come down to CRCC an take a look for themselves...and before you know it...you'll be sharing the wealth too! happy holidays & happy rcing. :D

hopefully ups will get it here before then. Just look for the tall skinny white guy with the purple evader pro buggy. You will probably be able to smell the smoked motor lol.

LOL! i'll be on the look-out for ya! HAHA! if your motor does smoke , i gots plenty of power in my "little black case". if that's not enough, i can hook you up with one HELL-ov-a motor guy! he hooked me up with an old "blue mule" (an EPIC hand-out motor...the one with the blue endbell)

Went and ran at the track for alittle while. My evader blew a CVD. I'll call up duratrax monday and get a fixed. I had the most fun running the 1/18 Vendetta that I bought at the shop saturday. We seriously need to get a group togethet to race the little ones. We could have a dozen of them on the track at the same time. That little thing is a blast!
