I am getting a new monster truck and have nerrow it down to the Revo and the Savage. I am looking for a good basher and don't race. Should I get a Revo or a Savage 25 and why?

The savage is a basher and the revo is a race truck.

Savage...better basher than the Revo. The Revo is a fine-tuned race machine.

1) Im a racer, so I may be somewhat biased...
but...I personally think the Revo is simply easier to drive. The Savage is Awesome, don't get me wrong. And with the different "models" of Savage available, it definately is a great option. Just think I would chose the Revo.On the pro side, for the Savage...it will take a beating more so than the Revo.Whichever you do end up chosing, do yourself one big favor while your at the LHS. Pick up a high tourque/speed steering servo.

And if you buy the Revo make sure you pick up an OS 18TM, then sell the 2.5R on eBay.

i dont own either, and am a traxxas fan, however, everyone i have talked to, including my LHS owner/ employees,.have repeatedly beat the savage and rave about its durablity and performance .if bashing is your choice, i would give the nob to the hpi.

That's more than I needed to know. ;)
The Savage is a far better basher out of the box. The Revo is plenty tough enough to bash, but the tires and engine aren't nearly as bash-ready as the Savage's. The Revo's design doesn't limit it's bashablity, it's included equipment does...specifically, the low profile, shallow treaded tires and the high-reving finicky, PITA motor. If you're willing to replace the motor with something better (the OS .18 TM would be my choice), and the tires with something a bit grabbier (I'd buy the Pro-Line Mulchers), it'd be about level with the Savage as a basher.

i said "nob"! omg! where's that thread on typo's!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahhaha, now that i made a total _____ out of myself,....lol. i still say, its all in application, and from what you say you are doing with it, i think a savage will be good. i really havent heard anything bad about them.

Its has got to be the savage all the way i have had several m/ts and this 1 has got to be about the best for reliability, strength and durability.
I know they are a b**** to work on but as time goes by and you find a easier way to work around them it does become easier.I would prefer a truck i think thats harder to work on but better on everything overall.I am not saying this just because i own and race the savages i do like the revos and yes with a few upgrades they can be fast and as competitive as the savage but on the i still prefer the savage.

i own both trucks. everyone says the revo is purely for racing, but i bash mine some. that being said, if you're only going to bash, then the savage is better. the savage can still turn some decent laps on the track too. you won't be able to keep up with a super hopped-up race revo, but you can still have fun if you want to drive a track.
