Hay guys it looks like we need this forum to keep Billy and Ron happy.
Man I'm thinking about going sunday and run dirt oval and not going to durham.

I suppose you could use another brand touring car but a belt car would probably go threw way too many belts....or just keep popping them off.
an LD3 would probably work well.....I dunno bout parts support but they supposedly have aluminum diffs....

Is anyone using a Dominator and is there any electric dirt oval? I used to race against them on the dirt oval in Burlington. It was a lot of fun. I actually beat a few of them at times. Me and Gene had a good time out running them guys 15 years ago!!.
I didn't see any....the only classes they have right now is the Sprint cars, stadium trucks and late models....I was there awhile back when they were running the monster trucks too. All of the classes are Nitro on the dirt.
I did see someone with a Nitro EDM there a few months ago.....

I agree this board is easier to use than the one on the Thunder Alley website. I actually bought an LD3 because of the metal diff gears but never adapted it to the dirt. I thought I could use the diff cases and all on the NTC3, but there's just enough difference in the bolt patterns that it wouldn't work, and besides I think I fixed the gears on my car anyway. Now watch me strip one next time out. Man I wish it was next week already, I want to redeem myself :D

That's where I'm used to being, back there with you.
I don't think so.....your turning faster laps then anyone....and you did TQ Saturday too.....all 3 of us at the end were within a 1/2 a lap too.
EDMs never took off cause of the bodies? man......well at least that means I will save some money. :D

yeah they were modified trucks with buggy arms, tires, and the lower shock towers that the asphalt oval trucks run... the bodies came in 6 or 7peaces that you had to put together and the instructions were horrible, Mine never did line up right. the class just died before it ever started...
texasdirtoval.com has a gallery that is full of trucks, sprints, EDM's, 1/8th buggies, and anything else that runs on a dirt oval...

In the main he drives all the nails in your coffin, then he buries you. :D Yall pay no attentoin to Slapup I got him covered. It is true that I have not outrun him but I have finished ahead of him time and again. :D

Mark it sucks to be me, cause your my ride to and from the track most of the time.. So I have to take the beatens and the kicks over the fence like a Red Headed step child, but I can say this you cant kick what ya cant see... That's right big boy every time you get near my car I'm hitting the in-field at full speed...
Lead that'll be a handy peace of info when the time comes to replace a body, after a certain some one punts your car over a fence, or off the track... Just hope I dont get hit by my own car...:D :D :D :D :D

It was a second hand whupping tho. He had to take his from Robert before he could hand it down to me. What can I say all I have to do is "PLACE" :D They both drove a fine race with better throttle control than I "brung". You have to run what you "brung" and I did not brung enough. Thats OK the Sun dont shine on the same butt every day. Mine is coming. If nothing else I will put some Skunk oil in the gas and stink them out.

well looking like i probably wont make it this saturday or for the next few weeks anywhere. i forgot we had promised christys grandpa we would come down to SC to the USC game with him this weekend. then my brother is getting married the next weekend and then to GA for christys cousins wedding the next weekend. This sucks and here i am with this NTC3 in front of me just begging to go slideways.

I bring enough "Every Week" to "FINISH" I took my TQ back with a 46 lap TQ. The win is coming this Sat. Kevin may as well stay home or bring some horsepower. :D ;) The Jato's took two of the top three places. My Jato has finished in the top three every time I have run it why would I want to put a good thing in the parking lot with Slapup :D ? Emphasis on "FINISH"

what tires are you guys running on the late models?
Also, what gets a better class, truck or late model? I can get another GT for less than a NTC3 (or LD3 if I'm feeling froggy :P)
I think they were about even last race. about 7 or 8 in each class.

I plan to run at the Antique Barn in the afternoon then come on over to the Alley Sat night. See if I can make it a one-two for the Jatos. Me being no one of course. See ya at the track. ;)

I came out and watched the other sunday and this sunday I am bringing the new Custom Works EDM out. Do any of you guys have nitro edm's up there still? I want to get some track time with some other cars but i fear i might have to drive up to coopers on saturday.

Doug they started a EDM class but it did not take off... There's only 3 classes that run at the alley. that's gas truck, gas sprint, and touring late modal... Sorry dude but no EDM's at this time run there... and I dont think if there's any other track in nc that runs EDM but I'm to totaly sure either...

Appreciate the comp. When my spur gear let go the ole Jato jumped the track. The bad thing about the TQ was that somebody had to give out of juice for me to get it. To add insult to injury "Robert Williams" won AGAIN. Just cant keep that boy down. It was a good race and I enjoyed racing for the position with guys that I am not afraid to go in and out of the corner side by side with. I will have to get a little smoother to compete with that electric . Slapup I was going for a double header just so you know. TQ,Fast Lap, and WIN at the Barn. Slipped over to the Alley ran a battery down to TQ. Bad luck took me out of the Main before I could run another battery down :D

Ha, If you had been there the ole Jato would have run around without a spur gear. Are you making progress on the job front? XTM? You are the second ??????? to get one and claim to be Jato hunting. That would be real sporting of you,like put a knife in your teeth ,climb a tree and wait for a tiger to walk buy. :D :D But knowing you ,you just might try it. At least you have the knife to cut the tail off with so you can let go.

As far as jobs go I'm maken ends meet with the Alamance County Parks and Rec but having to travel between gyms is kind of a bummer but it's money... I've had a few interveiws but nothing has came up as of yet still looking and hoping though...

Wev'e been there at least 3 times and have failed to see you there even once. We even took ol one eye last time so he could beat you on your home track but you chickened out :D
Thomas, I am still up in the air about it. But Mark is planning on going to Debbie's Saturday. I may stick around and do some things around the house Sat morning and come out there in the afternoon. Going up to Debbie's and running on the carpet is real tempting though...

Slapup do you think you could run with ole one-eye on your home track with a open wheel truck? Road course with an ST. That means no bouncing off the walls and hitting the corner markers/flaps etc. No jumping over the walls either. I CAN do good at it in my truck. Want to test them young eyes and reflexes against an old fella? We can get Bad John and Mad Mike at least one time. Careful you guys might have to buy a Jato to keep up with the old man. :D :D

You wont have a problem with the late model. Slapup will have a problem even if he runs the drag car :D I still want to try the track with some other ST,s. ;)

You only have two choices on the Losi xxxnt. 18tooth bell comes stock,you can put a 20 tooth. If you want any other combination you will have to change the flywheel to a Traxxas,Traxxas clutch,clutch nut,5x11mm bearings.

I did some horse trading and ended up with a LST that seems to be pretty bad, least I never seen a LST tote the front wheels when it hits 2nd before so I want to try it at the alley... That and I've already ran over the dog a couple of times so she finaly decided to stay away from it and only chases it when it's running away from her... :D

An LST is "BAD" no doubt about it. Yeah I bet the dog gives it a wide berth now. If you ran me over with an LST I would run when you came out of the door with it.

Well, cleaned my truck today and checked it over good..... I found nothing broken or bent. Suspension is free and smooth, only thing I noticed is the diff is a little gritty, but not bad.
I'm still amazed at how it went from "on a string" to a mobile track hazard without touching it. I guess it was just a combination of cooler air temps and drier track.

You were not the only one that happened to . If it were not for all the trucks I was beside at the time mine wouldn't have stayed on the track. It was just like someone kicked it sideways about the middle of every straight.

I was talking about Durham. The railroad ties at Rosewood are tough on open wheel trucks. If you touch one your truck is in for major repair. The splinters dig in and rip parts off. Might be a little hard to turn the LST and Revo on the Durham track. I will take it and see.

I had a blast yesterday even if the truck just didnt want to hook up I think I had the most fun in the thrid heat racen with Dick even if I was a lap down to him...
I put a receiver in the late modal this morning and drove it down the drive way a few times, just to make sure everything works and now I'm ready to get busted my James, Mark, Thomas, Mikey, and anyone else that runs.. ne ways see ya'll some time soon I hope...

Man o Man, I will not let my truck run the novice and pro class again. My buddy kept breaking stuff in the novice class for me in the pro class. First time running the truck and i couldnt figure it out. It has the SRP oval kit on it with tc3 shocks. I think i had too much spring in the thing. Loose all night.

Anyone reading this beware there is a virus that is affecting anything and everthing using Micro soft operating systems. It will infect the instant you go to a site that is infected. One that I know of is the Antique Barn site. It can be anywhere. In a picture a logo or anything. Does not require any input on your part except logging on to site.

Yep :p , least likely to break when you only have to turn one way :D.I can run road and touring, but i like getting dirty and sling some dirt.i started dirt oval back in 88-89 and to be honest i really miss it.I need a fix and its driving me mad to run the dominator again.Just dont feel like driving all the way to Virgina.Kinda feel the same with rc as i do in Nascar......the tracks that got the sport going are slowly fading out.As far as nitro......im lost.Ive only ran electric.Steven said he had a car for me to run and that the only electrics going on there are 1/18th.

I'm about done with running anything electric, other then the Tamiya mini cooper during the winter. Then again if I get this job up in the mountains I'll be done racing all together :(...
Like some one told me last Sunday, wiht electric your always playing the money war, with new cells coming out every 3 months, and a new motor every day it seems.... I like to go to a track with a nitro car and knowing I have more power then I need, and I'm not going to be beaten by more money...
That's the main reason I sold my extreme rail at the end of the season, it was becoming a money war much like electric oval is now. So Brad take the dominator put it together, paint up a nice looking body for it, then put it up over your work bench at home, and get a nitro car and come out and run with us...:D :D :D

As much as i hate to admit it i agree with the electric's becoming a major money war.Sad thing is i priced a nitro ft tc3(334.) to the electric tc4(389.)which i know the tc4 is newer than the nitro, but the overall deal seems to be with the nitro.I have seen how tough the nitro cars are(steve,mark p :D ) and they seem more durable than the electric.So im figuring 300+ for the car, another 200+ for an engine,i have no clue which plugs,fuel,starter box etc to go with.Only thing is i have no clue what to do with nitro.Steve if you dont mind fix me up a ride and let me drive it.You know me if i like something, i get one.I know i have battery and pan car sponsorships, but the motor,car etc thing every month is getting rediculious.Man do i miss the ol days :( .

Slapup if you go to the mountains always walk to your left. That way you will have a head start on turning left when you come to the flatlands to visit. You know one leg shorter than the other :D

I dont know if Bad John and Mad Mike run any electrics but I know they wont lay down and play dead. As for the Dominator I am not sure what kind of toy that is. If it is a MT that will turn left on an oval I can go for that. Might not keep up but I can sure give it hell when it comes back around[Bad John that sounded so good I had to use it] :D

The Dominator that i am refering to is by Custom Works.Its a 4wd chain driven oval car.They also made a 2 wheel drive car called the Intimadator.My Dominator is from the late 80's production.Now they have all these GFX deals and hoopla.Only truck i have is a T4 Team.Never raced it (played at TRRC a little bit),but its electric and i think you only run Nitro.Not gonna play dodge the E-maxx or Revo's anymore :D .

We don't do sparkys but I don't see any reason we can't all run together to make a bigger class.

Lets do it Mark.I dont care what kinda electric car it is, i just wanna run some dirt oval.Kids and house payment is keeping a cap on spending (at least toward rc and buying all the nitro goodies now are way out of the question........well at least until tax time :D ), so im gonna have to run what i got for now.

I'm like Mark.... The X-ray will never see the dirt, and as much fun as I've been having with the nitro's it might get lucky and see the light of day every once and a while.... :D
That and the sprint car is where my focus is when it comes to dirt oval, I've spent a pretty penny getting it back up to par and I've gotta beat Kevin at least once, and maybe even out run Stan before I move on to another class...

"Beat Kevin","Outrun Stan" before you move on!!!!!!! I guess you know who the old fart will be in the Sprint car class 20 years from now :D :D :D :D Somebody has already slashed the tires on his truck and the sprint car. He still raised the bar to 49 and 54.

well then One-Nut how about putting a sprint car body on that Jato and run some interference for me... Or better yet stand below the drivers stand and smack Kevin and Stan on the toe every other lap :D :D
Hmmm.... miss running oval, and the dirt oval looks like a blast to run on.... and I've just put a new body on my Nitro Rustler, so..... :D
Electric touring on dirt oval? I've got a T-spec I wouldn't mind getting a little dirty.... what tires, body, would be needed? Stock or mod motors?

I havent figured out tires yet because i havent raced the track yet, but bodies would have to be dirt oval bodies.I think Mcallister still makes some and i know custom works still has bodies.you will need a side air dam (wing).I am thinking about foams and as far as motors either.I just wanted to get a class started and go from there.We can work out the details together as a class or group.

If you guys want to run electric touring cars on the dirt, there's a lot of good info on dirtoval.com. Also, Thunder Alley is a foam tire track now.
About bodies, both Factory Works and Mcallister make latemodel bodies. CustomWorks does not make a body for touring cars that I know of.
I have a TC3 with the 200mm rally conversion. With Jaco foams mounted, it still fits under the 198mm Factory Works body, but the wheels are flush so make sure you mount it straight and square or they'll stick out.
As for motors.... mod! Is there anything else? LOL
But seriously, that track will suck up some horsepower, so anything less will be really slow.

I know Custom work doesnt make a body for touring cars, but the bodies for the dominator will fit.Bank in the 80's and early 90's we rean a class called Production oval.We had rc10graphite championship edition cars and we mounted those bodies on it.They were 190 mm so it should still work.Hey im all for running 8 turn mods :D .But thanks for the info on the bodies.

yeah I got it.... I took it out Thursday so I could get it to ya on Sat but, with no money to spend I couldn't make it to play... Hopefully I can get over this sickness and make it down this Sat, if not I'll try and make it to Marks some time this week... Sorry Hank...

Ok boys, it looks like i might be working out a deal on a rc10gt.Have no clue how to tune a nitro motor moreless keep one running(keep that trigger pulled), but i think im gonna convert it to dirt oval.Any suggestions on motors, tires etc.I know back when we ran rc10's on oval we had to use a Macallaster Lowering kit(pretty much lowered the shock towers and we ran front shocks all the way around), but that was like in the 80's.......but do i need to do anything to the truck to run oval now with the shocks?
