Will any FM 27 band reciever work with it?
My friends talked me into getting this thing because I have a radio for each car that I have and they said I could just switch freq's instead of carrying around all of my radios. After buying it I found that yes it is better than my others but the price of recievers is crazy. This thing has crazy model memory but buying all the recievers you would need for each car would make you have to sell your first born to make up for the cost.
Whats the cheapest that I can put in them that will work with this radio?

Hello, I'm not trying to hijack your thread shadowghost, but I have damn near the same question.

I understand they have to be the same band/frequency.

What are the rules about mixing Tx/Rx's? Can you mix name brands? Can you mix name brands of Xtals?

Thanks for any info.

In the 27Mhz band it is very easy. Any 27 RX will work as long as you are using matching crystals. The 27Mhz band does not use the + or - phase shifts that the 75Mhz FM uses which will cause certain companies to not work with other. Cheapest way to pick up RX's is to get some aftermarket one's off ebay or the boards here.

Just use a cheapie crystal 27 RX, then set the freq in your TX to match your new el cheapo RX.

I think that's what mavrick was also trying to say.
