ok everyone this is probably a newbie question but.... i have 4 vehicles and four radios 3 futabas and a xr3i. i would like to just use the xr. is it as easy as getting 3 new receivers at the same freq. and are the servos interchangable? is there a generic receiver or do i need to buy brand specific. thanks for any help

I'm fairly certain that his JR transmitter is not compatible with the Futaba receivers, even if he were to switch to the right RX crystal. He would need to buy new receivers to replace the Futaba units if he wants to run all four vehicles off the JR radio.
The servos should be compatible, though you may need to rewire them to match the wiring scheme of the receivers you end up using.

I think Futaba and Jr are interchangable...look at the Novak Rx's they usually say Fut./JR.

At least Fm's are the same ..I would think Am is also

Try this..pull a futaba receiver out and put it in the car with the Jr ...pull the Rx crystal out put it in the Futabe Rx and see if it works....The servos are interchangable

Airtronics, JR and KO FM Transmitters are Positive Shift. Hitec and Futaba are Negative shift.

i run my 15 year old futaba rx with my jr radio with no problems,as long as your rx is on the same freq as your radio i.e. 27mhz or 75mhz then all you have to do is run crystals that match

i dont think it will work that way u need a crystal made for the rx it just needs to be the same freq that ur radio is

AM or FM?
FM you can't. AM you can.

depends if it is on 27 mhz or 75 mhz if the are compatiable. the radios are both on 27 mhz and have the same modulation the will work with just he crystal swap. make sure the crystals are made by the same company. if they are different modualtion which to me sound like it since three have futabas in and one is a decent jr controller. the jr is fm, tehn you will need to get some recievers that are jr compatibale. if the futabas are fm as well and are on 75 mhz you will still need to get new reciavers as the tolerances on 75 mhz arent great enough to run a positive shift recievers with negative shift controller.
