I don't know if this is where I would post this, but I need some help with plans. I want to make .60 plans of the Red Bull Edge 540. All I have are pictures and a few specs. Is this enough to go by or do I need more info. Should I go see the plane somewhere and ask if there were any way to get measurements. I will scratch build this plane so I thought this would be the place to post.
Thanks,

I would try to get the plans already made up. Most of the plans you would buy from this website or others like RC Modeler Mag. have been test flown and proven. I like scratch building and have a good background with auto cad but making up my own plans I would still leave that to someone else.

I talked this problem over with my dad. He said that he used to draw his own plans and he even found an online article with formulas for certain things like: wing span/stab length, center of gravity, the required distance of prop from cg, etc. Thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt anyone has mad plans for this particular plane.

Is the Red Bull plane just a standard Edge 540?
D&L Designs has plans for a .60 size Edge 540
You can get the plans only or a kit.

I want to scale build Kirby Chambliss's Zivko Edge 540. I saw some pictures and I was instantly inspired. Now you know my intetions and ideas. By the way, this will be a pattern ship.

The best place to start is with a set of 3-views. If you can find these, you can enlarge and start dropping in construction detail. Are you thinking about pencil and paper or CAD?

The idea at the time was to do it with CAD, but seeing as I had no idea how to use the program, it would probably be free hand. however, most recently, my desire, and funding for building RC has greatly deminished, due to research and other things pertaining to the Air Force. I do have one plane that flies very well, and will continue to use it. It is a 3-D capable aircraft, so it is very fun to fly. Thank you all for your help, and perhaps if I know how to make my own plans, I will be able to make aircraft on my own, such as the new F-35. Thank you all again.
