Ralf, I have FMS.. It is not as realistic as some of the others, but it is good for learning your orientation and the basics. I like it alot. My friends have some of the other Flight Sims that cost anywhere from $119-$200. The FMS is free to download or do as I did... I bought a cable from Toms RC on ebay for $39.99 and he sent the cd free.My friends may have a more realistic Flight Sim, but I took the money I saved and bought myself a Hangar 9 Funtana!!!!! Regards, KK

I have fms, trueflight 3d, and Pre-flight. One came with a helicopter that I bought off Ebay from hong kong (dont do it) fms & pre-flight were free downloads.

RealFlight is running at the hobby shop that I frequent, and it is the poo. It is also $200. You have a good program, fly around on it don't waste your money on a high priced video game.

There are a number of free RC airplane simulators. FMS is probably the best
known. Not as fancy as the expensive ones but it works and can really help
you get your aileron timing down. It will also help you learn to fly the plane
toward you.

The links offer other simulators plus sites that provides a cable that can
connect to
the trainer port on your radio so you can fly the sim using your own radio or
buddy box. I also list some exampels of low cost fully functional radios that
can run the sim AND fly a plane. I believe buddy boxes, which are not
functional radios, can also be used to run a simulator. Finally a low cost
used FM radio that has a trainer port would be an excellent way to run your
sim. I purchased a used Futaba conquest 4 channel FM radio for $10 to use as
a buddy box and to use on a simulator.

Then there is always the chance that someone at the club will loan you an
old radio with a trainer port so you can practice.

I don't have the "FMS" so I'm not sure how it works...I have "RealFlight SimulatorG-2" They now have a "G-3".... I have had some sucsess with it but its like everything thing... It doesn't compare to the real thing...But again when you crash on a simulator it doesn't cost MONEY!!! Good Luck and keep trying...Remember everyone started out as a Beginner too !!

I have RealFlight G3. It's much better than FMS. FMS is free, but it's no where as realistic as RFG3.

Two weeks ago I used FMS and an adapter cable to teach my Father, Sister, Brother-in-law as well as my 13 year old niece how to fly a GWS Pico Tiger Moth.

Very Successful when we got to the flying field!
