anyone thought about using the batteries from a mobile to make a li-po battery for a rc car. i worked it out and you could use 3 batteries from a mobile if you linked them up, i just didn't know if they would blow up or kill my speed controller or something

I don't think the discharge rates on those are high enough for RC applications.

ok, just an idea for cheap batteries - crawlers perhaps?

They are popular for very small and light indoor R/c planes. But I don't think they would be up to the demands of an RC car, except that of a stock Mini-Z or micro RS4. I run a 2s Kokam 1050 (3 amp discharge rate) in my micro RS4 and I get about an hour of run-time (about 1 amp draw).
