1.Denatured alcohol
2.Nitro clean
3.Simple green
a rag and you should be good to go, or you can bust out your dremmel and put the polishing attachment on it and buff your brains out.

Mothers or Simi-chrome. Also NeverDull is good stuff too. But if you polish it without sealing it it will get nasty again.

For the aluminum, get a product called Mother's Aluminum Polish. It's the best stuff I have found to clean and polish aluminum, easy to use and leaves a great shine. Realize that if your aluminum is anodized and pitted, you'll probably have to strip it to get good results.

Another good one is Brasso...go over your ali 2 or 3 times with this stuff and you get a great shine which lasts for, well, I polished the chassis on my truck about a year ago and it's still gleaming.

I used Simi Chrome, until switching to Mothers - you get more and it costs less. It works on great on unanodized parts, kingpins, axles, motor armature shaft. For non suspension parts (rotating parts) the parts can be sprayed with a light coat of clear lacquer, it also helps anodized parts (shock bodies, ties rod (tape the threaded section), shock mount (pan cars) servo mounts etc. For the old RC10 alum chassis spraying it with clear lacquer also reduce scratching some.

i like my polishing wheel, if you can get one of them (if you have a bench grinder). it works like a charm... only problem is sometimes you cant reach the inside of some of the arms....

1. Mothers
2. neverdull
use a rag to put it on, and use a sepret DRY wrag to take it off, if you use alot of pushing power it will come out marvioulus

Dont use mothers or neverdull on stainless steel(if there is any) or it will turn it yellow and ugly

Hey, on just general cleaning up your nitro MT of oil, dirt, etc., what do most people use? I have a can of the nitro cleaner sold at local hobby shop, but thought I read a while back where some people were using something very common to clean with that was much less expensive and could be bought in larger quantities. Thanks anybody.

i use simple green on mine simply because the nitro cleaner is too expensive
any degreaser will work as long as it is safe for plasctics

For just general cleaning, I use a mix of 10-15% Simple Green in denatured alcohol.

I just spent 2 days cleaning a used chassis that looked bad. I used 600grit and WD40 with a sanding block. Then Mother's. It looks real nice now.

I've been using something Eastwoods sell called Diamond Clear to protect a polished alum finish and will finish the chassis and chassis braces with that as well.

I've found some general cleaners used in household or for automobile works as good as some rc brand stuff plus they are usually cheaper and a larger quanity. Found recently that certain hand cleaners work good on tires, plus the lanolin keeps them soft - the kind that requires no water to remove.

For chemicals MEK, Acetone, Mineral Spirits, Denatured Alcohol can be purchased in hardware and paint stores. The acetone and MEK should only be used in a well ventilated area -person should limit exposure by wearing gloves or a respirator(chemical film cartridge). For bushing and bearing lubes 3 in 1, sewing machine oil (bushings), Marvel Mystery oil, and Castrol Syntec mixed with mineral spirits (this will last for years).
