What are you Customs and duty fees applied onto an RC bought from a US Hobby Shop ?
I.E. Towerhobbies.

Unless its airmail, the customs cost depends on package size, original purchase cost, and how far its gonna have to go.
For example, I bought 2 sets of chargers and some batteries (160$ - 9lb package, from like texas or something nearby to southern ontario, customs cost me almost 20$ - they charged me shipping / handling, and some tax.
So if you're planning on buying an RC, the customs + shipping will be costly. Something like 50$ or so...
Hope this helps :)

If you don't want to pay customs look at greathobbies.com. That is where I get half of my stuff and the other half at my lhs. I called towerhobbies to see how much shipping would be for something and they said $17 US.

I live in Fergus, ON, and my sis got stuff sent to my from stormerhobbies.com, and it cost 18 bucks cdn when I picked it up from the post office for tax (and shipping I am quite sure, but don't quote me). It was just some aluminum parts for my mini-t, and they were hardly more than a pound. I am quite sure that Stormer is in Atlanta.
P.S. Anyone else live near Fergus?

stormer is in montana(about 2 1/2 hour away from the alberta/usa boarder. You need to either pick up the proper forms at the post office or send the item to go through customs again as RC stuff is classified as toys and there should be no import or taxes on toy items comming into canada.I cant remember the form number but It works as I have gotten over $150 of money I paid to pick my items up at the P.O back with them

If it is in parcel type, I always get charged 15% of the total price of the item (from US to Canadian $ equivalent) once it reach customs. then they will add (Canada Post) $5.00 handling fee. It really sucks.

I do the same thing as ayk_driver. Saves a lot of money and a lot of hassel, only problem is sometimes I have to wait a little longer. But I have found to that if the shipper states toys or toy car parts then duty somehow never gets applied. Also I've gotten things airmail without duty or taxes as well.
