Hi, I have a tc4 rtr. and am having trouble with the car's radio system. It is the stock airtronics. Anyways at about 50-75 feet it keeps cutting up and this is even when using new batteries. So then I was wondering if it was a problem with the crystals. I then bought some hpi blue crystals from towerhobbies to replace the stock yellow from the remote and receiver but still it was sputtering at about 50-75 feet.

Your radio system may be defective. Try taking it in to a hobby shop to see what they think.

My TC4 did the same thing. My problem was the motor. The RTR motor endbell came loose real easy and caused the eletronics to glitch. I found when I had talked to other TC4 RTR drivers to have the same problem. I have a comm cutter, so I cut the motor comm and serrated the brushes and sealed the endbell to keep it from coming apart agian. It has worked good for the past few months. I haven't ran it lately. As a side not if your racing with the stock motor(RTR) on a small carpet track gear 2 gears down on the pinion. The car will be almost as fast on the top end and accelerate much, much faster. I dropped my lap times by .03. And the pinion is is all I changed.
