I use zap thin and thick glue with an accelerator. Epoxy is another common bonding formula, but it is hard to work with and it is only used to strangthen parts and to oil proof them. Epoxy is also rather expensive. It comes in different time frames like 30-minute epoxy. Thin zap is exactly what the name implies. It is very thin and is almost like water. Hope this helps. Oh, and some accelerator will help make the building process go much faster. Be careful of the crystalization that will form because of straight glue that has not bonded with any wood. The accelerator only works with the thin zap.

The article found by using the link below is an excellent source of information regarding glues used for modelling/building applications.
I'm a bit late in posting this info. Hopefully some other hobbyists will find it useful.

I use CA thick and thin, 15-minute epoxy, and 30-minute epoxy. But my favorite all around wood glue for basic sheeting tasks is Aliphetic resin (Elmer's yellow Carpenter glue) and/or TiteBond II.
it sands great and dries overnight.

Actually I'm in the process of building a wood boat kit and this requires planking. I use thin and thick CA and use accelerator on both without any problem.
