View Full Version : bad day of bashing...

Here's the short version: My T-maxx was having tranny issues so I took the thing apart and made some adjustments. I put everything back together and headed for the local baseball field. I get there and get my truck started only to find out that it can only go backwards. I PUT THE Forward Gear In the Reverse spot. So fine I can only drive my truck backwards--what ever! I become used to this very annoying circumstance then my plug blows out. End of bash session not even half a tank!!!!!!!!!

I had a bad day of bashing too today. broke a steering knuckle and cva on my MGT, and a rear a-arm and bent a dog bone on my GT. But a bad day of bashing, is better than a good day at work.

Well I fixed my tranny but now the weather is crappy and cold. I am now considering a FOC to take a lot of weight out of my maxx. Boy, there is soo much stuff in that tranny that robs HP.

Well here's part 2 of this bad bashing day--- I went home and grabbed my Fully Loaded 100% UE Supermaxx ( i only use it for racing but today I needed a bashing fix), and when I got to the field; as I took the lid off I noticed that I forgot to bring and AIR FILTER. I couldn't believe this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So i took this as a sign not to bash with my racer and headed home. I have now cleaned up my racer and put her away for the season but am still waiting for good weather so that i can bash with my bashing maxx

Resp... my maxx is sitting on my hobby table in a million pieces as I'm polishing all the alum. to a bright shiny finish.. then it will be reassembled to sit on my shelf until April.. I put the FOC in mine last year also put all steel gears in to, didnt want the OS18TM to rip it all apart.. I'm going to be rebuilding front/rear diff also... Hey everybody at the track really likes the Baja Bug you so awesomly painted for me.. http://home.comcast.net/~roundyr/roundyr.html

Prolly 'cause you sold twice as many 'Maxx's than any other truck. That's the way it is at our Hobbytown I work at here in Wichita. And usually Tmaxx buyers are noobs who can't understand that the radio should be turned on first and off last, and that pushing forward on the trigger is for brakes, not yanking the radio over your head like a fishing pole. It's all good!! ;)

About every other truck we sell is a Tmaxx. And that counts all trucks, not just the monsters. The truck is just too much fun to personalize, despite its shortcomings.

Personalizing a truck and knowing that you'll never have to worry about parts availability is a key factor for many new hobbyist

Nice pics!!

I have owned my maxx for 5 years and the only thing I broke was a lower suspension arm. It wasn't until this past summer that I broke many things on it. The reason why so many things broke was because I started racing it. Racing really weeded out the weaker points on this vehicle.

my T-MAXX is my baby....

it is my very 1st nitro.... (real good one)
before that I just had electrics and a Kyosho Pure Ten Alpha.

My first nitro was an HPI RS4 Nitro. I still own this one and can always count on it to work regardless of the maintanence. But the T-maxx is just an awsome vehicle.

My little kyosho wasn't that lucky...
I broke it really bad, beyond the fixing point.....

I expent so much money on that piece of.... crap... and finally I hit a concrete wall full throtle.... after that I threw it so many times on the asfalt until everything was broken.

that's the END of it, literally.

after that I got the T-Maxx and all the others.
