What is the best Charger around $100? I'm looking to get another "Charger" here is what I'm looking for:
A back lit LCD
Charge at least up to 7 amps
Run off of DC power
And does "not" need to discharge or break in motors, all though if it does that is fine.
Let me know what charger you like that meets this and why.
Thanks

Most chargers that will do over 5 amps are over $100. If you only need 5amps, get a Multiplex LN-5014 (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKSY1&P=ML) for $79.99.

Has anybody used this charger, https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=cs&pn=LRP4145 ? Is it any good? I would not mind spending more. I might just buy a Pulsar 2. I would get the Duratrax ICE, but it is not back lit, and that big of a screen is probaly hard to read unless there are some good ways to make it backlit.

hi, is this a good charger:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXG87&P=0
its 75$ and can charge 2 battery pack at the same time.
and I have a 12v 7A gell cell comming from a starter box and was wondering if this could do the job as a powersupply for the charger.

It is ok, but I guess I forgot to mention, I want a charger that charges using Linear.

For a linear charger, I love the Novak Millenium (Pro). It doesn't matter if it's the Pro version or not since I use the NiCD mode (with user adjustable delta peak) for my IBs. It's great for re-peaking at 7 amps too; it will give you tons of punch.

I think I will go with the ICE. Seems like a really good choice.

I have an ICE and it not being backlit has never bothered me or caused any probs.
If you're handy with electronics, here's the best way I've seen to make it backlit - see post #7 about using an EL kit -

I also have to recommend the ICE. The price and features definitely out weigh the fact that it doesn't have a backlight.

Try the mrc super brain 977. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLCJ6&P=ML It costs $105 and it includes the power supply. It can do two NiMh/NiCd/Li-Po/Lithium Ion/Gell cell/ and Lead Acid at a time and charge them at .2 to 5 amps.

I was have suggested the Tekin 112A which is DC which charges from .01 to 10amps, uses a linear charge or reflex which can be disabled with several voltage detect setting built in depending on which charge screen you use or number of times you press the start button P0 is the lowest. Online proces vary from $124.95 to $140.00.
