Hi all.
I have a Nikko 4-hr charger which cam with one of my old Nikko RC cars with a 9.6v 650mah Ni-Cd battery pack, can it charge a 7.2v 3000mah battery Ni-Mh pack? If not, just out of interest, what would happen if I had to try?

Nope, it wont charge it. your charger is meant for 9.6 v, the battery is 7.2 v. thats 2 extra cells, and youll end up smoking your abttery, causing a decent aount of damage

Yes, it will probably do the job, the hardest thing is to measure the current. The voltage will be set by the battery being charged and with a multimeter you can check the current and estimate the time very accurately.

Purely a guess is that it may take a day to charge.

What are the specs on the back of the charger?
