$258 to the door and i'm gonna set it up for r/c use and a few minior changes this winter. Seemed like a good cheap monster whatever in the making.

That's what i thought, i have been looking at 1/8 scale and 1/4 scale but can't afford the 1/4 and the 1/8 are not any larger than the tmaxx and i wanted something big and gas. A 1/4 scale servo might do it for the throtle and breaks, i will probably have to build something for the steering but heck for under $300 for a rolling chassis with engine i figured i would give it a try and i'm sure i will be doing something to it. Thinking of loosing the foot rests right off and the riser and a backbone mod, maybe stretch it into a sand rail and new rear tires, need to have it in my hands to visualize the mods. Either way should prove to be a fun project.

That could be really cool. A sand rail would be lots of fun. Keep us updated :D

Sweet idea, and good luck. Are you going to run a 3 channel radio, you could put a clutched tranny on it. That would be so sweet to have a clucht on an rc car!

Never even thought about a clutch, this is the first pocket type bike i have owned, i have seen clutch kits for pocket bikes though. It will be a learning experience with the bike but nothing i should have a problem with. I have owned and raced many many r/c cars since probably 1982 so the electronics part will not be an issue.

well if you drive it before you turn it into a r/c, tell me how it is, that looks neat, but the only thing is getting parts for the unknown japenese brands lol

Yea i concidered the China parts thing before i bought it, if everything goes to bad i will still have a rolling chassis that can be adapted, i could have and was going to make my own chassis but could not find any plans and don't have the time to make my own plus bending the tubing. Tons of 49cc and bigger engines out there and i have a 49xx 4 stroker that should be adaptable with not much work if i need it. Just wish the tarn thing would show up so i can rip it apart. I already have a line on some turf knobbies for the rear just need to order them too.

For the steering, you could use a large box fan motor sitting parrellel to the steering shaft, and attach a sproket to the collum. Then attach a pinion to the motor shaft and connect the gears with a chain. If you got a 4 channel stick radio (kinda expensive), you could set an endpoint on it, 75% positive and negative, use an esc to get exponential, and you now have high tourqe steering. I think it would work, because the plane tx's have assignable channels (right, plane guys help me out here)? Anyway I think it just might work

wow how cool is that! but i think sterring would be a problem

Well the bike is small so i'm hoping a 1/4 high torqe servo on a bell brank might do it, if not i will have to build something with a 12v servo and driver board. Should not be that bad to do.

Servo problem should be solved should be able to dead lift 20lb with this gearbox.

that bike weighs no more than 55lbs, two quarter scale servos might work for steering but It might be better to hook a big electric motor to do the steering but you would need someway to get the commands from radio to car.Brake and accel might be easier to setup if there both diffrent channells, unless you trust that much cable linkages.
This is one hell of an interesting project, keep us informed

man that second gear box for a servo is putting out 1,715 in-oz. of Power!
