I am an r/c boater looking to get an electric monster truck. Ive narrowed it down to these 3 in order of intrest
1. Clod
2. Txt-1
3. Pti goliath
This truck would be used for general purpose. I like the trucks that look more like the real thing. I have read lots of posts and shopped around for upgrade parts. The only thing keeping me from making my decision is not knowing which trucks cofiguration is better. The clod has the motors mounted on the axels and 8 vertical shocks. The other two use a cantalever set up with the motor/motors in the chasis. I know the center of gravity would be different. Aside from that is one configuration better than the other???

The TXT is basically a modified clod. Its great for rock crawling. If you want to, you could get a clod kit and modify it right out of the box, depending on the aftermarket chassis you want to use(if you do want to use one). Can't comment on the PTI- its pretty new if Im corrct and I dont think alot of people have them yet

For the most scale look go with a TXT, I absolutley love mine. Alot can be done with it out of the box ( crawling, bashing and most other mt type things.) The clod is nice but imo lacks the realistic look if a MT but they can be modified to do most anything. I had a Bull Head and my TXT is by far much better out of the box.

Well, between the Clod and the TXT, Id choose the TXT. The Clod is way old technology straight out of the box. The TXT though will build into quite a capable crawler out of the box.

I cant offer an opinion on the PTI Goliath, since I just now heard about it in this thread, but I just saw a pic...looks pretty neat

The TXT is basically a modified clod. A TXT is a modified Juggernaunt 2 not a Mod Clod.

really? I thought it was a mod clod.....my bad.Its all good man. TXT have axles like the Twinforce motors mount in the chassis.Clod have motors mounted on gear boxs/axles.

Stock TXT-1 is a capable crawler and its nice looking too. I just had my new super clod kit and ill let you know how it handles in stock form. for the PTI truck, there is a forum dedicated for 1/18th, try searching in the net, you will sure find it.

oh, the only thing i dont like with the txt is its torque twist when you go full throttle from stand still. Now you wont get that from the clod, since as triple R posted, it has the motors mounted on the gearbox axles.

its a good choice. you will find that the "quality" of the kit is top notch, the building of the kit is rewarding and its a capable crawler/basher all around.

I have an EVX and twin 19 turn motors from one of my boats that intend on using for which ever truck I decide to get.
