ok guys just a silly question.....
my monster gt came with a .21 motor i believe. Now i hear that they have a
4.6 motor for this truck. Now just in comparrison i would think this 4.6 would be considerably more powerful motor?
and if that is the case would it be a worth while up grade? over another after market motor?
reason im asking is i would like to bump up to something with more power for just some serious bashing would like some power for wicked wheelys and some high speed bonzi runs
thanks guys

Yes they have the 4.6 (.28) now. The tt.21 may seem a little under powered but with a little port and polish you would be surprised. If you are dead set on an inexpensive replacement, go with the Mach .26 (my personal favorite) or the XTM 24.7. these are both great engines and can be had for around 100 bucks.

also the LRP Z.28 has INSANE power
and you cant beat the price either!

Would the MGT take the LRP Z.28 has it is at the moment or would you have to do some hopups to it.Its alright buying these nice horsepowered engines if the trucks will take it look at the 4.6 the gears in the transmission blows on these but if you go out and buy the upgraded gears then it is ok and works fine?

well i sure wouldnt mind any extra power it seems like an inexspensive mod to do the port and polish! dindnt think about that so could you direct me to some instructions on where to port and polish at? oh and i geuss i could check in on some minor mods like head and tuned pipe because the truck is still basically stock

It is pretty simple to do but takes a steady hand. I will try to hunt down the pics of mine and get them to you. I do my own, so I don't really have any directions to give you. I will see if I can find the pics and I will give you all of the help I can.

Its not as simple as just putting the bigger engine in - AE made some other upgrades for reliability under the increased power of the 28 - quoting from one of their ads on the new 4.6 MGT -

"To make sure all of that extra power gets down to the ground, the MGT 4.60
SE's 2-speed transmission now comes equipped with new tough steel gears and steel CVAs that are up to the job of handling the massive torque."

Course you could always upgrade as you break stuff using the new motor.
