the hitec servos are well known to be good, but they do have one weak point (as almost any digital servo, more or less visible) : the amp consumption !!
these digital servos pull around 1,5 A with ease, so if the carīs steering is fried or in any case hard to move, or the situation where the car is driven, it will draw even more.
some bec circuits cannot provide these amps for longer time, they overheat fast, so it stutters (as it isnīt feeded with "juice" any more so it fails.
the only workaround:
1. another servo with less amp draw
2. check full steering linkage at hard to move parts
3. use aftermarket bec, best: with cooling fins on it
these are the best ways to overcome this problem, good luck !!

Endpoint adjustment can do it to. If your radios endpoints are set correctly, each time you hit full lock, you kind of run the Servo against a Stop, this causes excessive current usage, and ultimately is bad for the servo.
