I received my package from starluck on Saturday and installed the mtronicks pro, 540 12s into my t4 and started charging the 3500 4s lipo right away. It had just stopped raining outside so I sealed up my receiver in a balloon and went outside. I sat it down on the gravel driveway and pulled the trigger it throws rocks so hard that you can hear them zing past and learned quickly that you don’t want to be behind it. This setup is on a completely different planet than the ss5800 it’s replacing. On the pavement at 25-30mph it still has plenty of power to flip the truck over backwards. Currently its gear what I would call conservative for this set up at 11.31 and is only hitting mid 40's. It’s getting very long runtimes and after about 10min the motor is about 125f and the controller and battery are both under 100f.

Its great isn't it :)

Just be careful that you do go rubber side up and grind through your antenna tube. I was out doing speed runs and grinded right through my new Airtronics receiver antenna.

Funny you say that it pulled the tube out at least 10 times and ground through the body on the bumps for the front shock tower. But it’s a riot. Probably going to make an internal antenna holder out of scrap lexan today.

Now you know what having too much power means! Welcome to true brushless! :)

You should try 14.8 volts with a 5000+ kv motor... I have that setup in my T4 and I can't even go 1/2 throttle!!!

It really becomes not very fun after a little while. I ran a 7S (roughly 5400kv) in my xxx-t and I dont know how fast it was but it was rediculous! Just a wheelie machine.

I switched to a 4wd truck now and it is so much better. All the control of the 4wd and it only wheelies from a dead start.

On another note just wait until you put that system in a on-road car. I used to run an 8S in my tc3 but had troubles with my diffs and axels (stock plastic) breaking.

Awesome... Another Feigao 540 12s user! Glad you like the motor, 'cuz I know I do! I run mine in a Rustler, but since my 4s Lipo pack lost a cell (it ballooned), I converted the pack to a 3s. It still runs very well, wheelies a lot (set the slipper loose to keep the gears from stripping!), and I get long runtimes, about 15-20mins on a 3s 3300mah Lipo. Best of all, everything stays cool. After 10mins, Mtroniks Truck controller is 85 deg., 12s is 120 deg., and battery is 115. My gearing is 22/90 on a 2.72:1 transmission, so final ratio is 11.13, and I'm running almost bald (from brushless power!) Proline Dirt Works.

For some reason I would assume that higher speeds may be attained with a relatively equivelant kontronik twist42.

The Feigao can produce more torque. I have a NIB Twist42 I would be glad to sell you for about twice the price of the Feigao if you would like to find out :D !

Jamie I have the twist42 the more reason for assuming :o
Thanks for clarifying. :D

On another note - I have witnessed Abiye who recently tested the new feigaos/mtroniks genesis pro combo using TP6000 Prolite 2s format on a touring car. The results were impressive and had attracted a lot of attention, questions and comments for those non-brushless/lipo users.

Just for the fun of it we threw in a Pletty extreme to compare side by side. The Pletty had a notable difference in terms of higher speeds and faster accelaration. The temperature of the motor/esc were likewise impressive and warm to the touch.

Pletty gets a bad rap sometimes because peak efficiency is mid to high 80's when Hacker/Lehner claim better. The Pletty maintains it's efficiency over a wider range though which is why they make excellent car motors. Glad you guys are having fun with your setups.
