I won a nice working order baja king not to long ago and have been wanting to sling a bl system in her...well i have also just won a warrior 9918 from ebay for $190+shipping... and am thinking of going with a feigao 8L or 7XL which do you guys think would be best on 12-14 cells

I'd go 8L. It'll spool up faster than a 7xl probably, and on 12-14 cells, is a good motor and plenty fast. You don't need an XL motor for something that size.

I agree.....if you were going to go with an XL motor I would go with a Lehner with a kv of around 3000.

ok...i tried to win a lehner xl3100 but was outbid at the last second i'll prolly go 8L or 9L i hear the 9L will run cooler and give better run times and besides i can add a nice heat sink to it and the esc will get a nice fan on top

The 9L will run cooler and give better runtime. 14 cells would really be too much for the 8L, but would be better with the 9L.

I'm sure even a 12S would do well if the final drive ratio isn't too tall. 9L is available with built in heatsink. I also have a spare Basic XL 2800 around.

how much for that basic xl? isnt' that comparable to 9L as far as performance?

They are similar. I bought it to test against the 9L and HV Maxx, but haven't had the time. $150 for the motor.
