Hey guys,
It's been a while, but im planning on doing one of a few things.
Right now i have an evader bx with all upgraded electronics and a 13turn team orion revolution. Im thinking of either going brushless with this car or getting a new car all together.
I was thinking of getting the Pro esc at starluck with a 380c 6t to run with between 6-8 cells. How do you all think that will run and do you think that is a good setup. At first i was thinking the 540 8t but being my car is pretty light i think the 380c with a 6t is a good choice.
So do you all think i should go brushless or get a new car and stick with the electronics i have now, as i wont be able to go brushless with the new car any time in the near or even distant future.
Thanks in advance.
Also, do the 380c motors bolt up where a standard 540 would.

those 380c motors are amazing, i would definitly recommend them. i have a 13t with 12cells in my evader it was ridiculous fast but on the heavier side, 6 or 7 turn would be an awesome light and fast set-up, but then again a 13t with pro esc and 4s li-po would be fast, light and have long runtimes, but it would be a pretty damn expensive set-up. Some where in the evader forum they have all the diff upgrades you need if you go with a set-up like that.

duratrax:
#dtxc 7441 carbide thrust balls
#dtxc 1523 bearings
#dtxc 8081 nitro idler gear
#dtxc 7352 carbide diff balls
associated #9367 diff rings
hammad ghuman #1848 alloy diff gear- do an e-bay search for hammad ghuman.

i found all the parts you would need for a bulletproof diff (if you dont have it already)

Oh, and i was wondering the most cells that the 380c 6t and 7t can handle, i only have 6 cell packs right now but would like to see if the 6t can handle anymore. Also, does any one have any idea what to gear this motor like, as i only have alot of experience with brushed motors.

Personally I'd go brushless, just get an alloy or steel idler gear (The HG or Duratrax one), and if your diff melts get the diff parts mentioned above, but they may not be strictly necessary.

The 380c 6t should be good on up to 7 cells, the 7t 8 cells. They'll be *very* well suited to a light buggy like yours, I've even used a 9t on 8 cells in a 2.3KG truck with good results.

For gearing I always work out what sorta speed I want to hit and go from there. The following page has a good gear ratio, and theortical speed calculator:

If the Evader BX uses the same drive ratio as the Evader ST, I'd start at around 18/81 and work from there.
